This attractive cottage is perfect for a small family or group of friends to enjoy a relaxing seaside holiday. The town of Looe has charming narrow streets leading down to a picturesque harbour. It is split into East and West Looe by the river that runs through it and on down to the beach. The cottage overlooks this busy waterway and is just a few hundred metres from all of the town’s amenities, including its sandy beach. Visitors can visit the harbour and perhaps hop aboard a sightseeing boat trip out to Looe Island with its abundant wildlife. There’s a great little cafe down at the family-friendly beach and the town has many independent shops to browse and some fabulous restaurants. Seafood features highly on the menu here, and there is fresh fish available from the market on the quay if you’d like to cook up a feast at home. Just along the coast is the picturesque fishing village of Polperro 5 miles away. The dramatic South West Coast Path stretches off in both directions, offering some fantastic walking.
The cottage is accessed via a flight of 23 steps down from the parking area. Once inside, it is welcoming and homely with plenty of different spaces to relax. The comfortable living room features glass doors and floor-to-ceiling windows to one end. Beyond these are a balcony and some sensational views. The charming kitchen/diner is similarly endowed with the dining table placed right in the window space. This is a fabulous place to enjoy your meals as you gaze out at the activity on the waterway below. Also on the ground floor, there’s a king-size bedroom with river views and a family bathroom featuring a bath and a separate walk-in waterfall shower. The second bedroom is located downstairs on the lower ground floor. This is a twin room, also with great views and zip-and-link beds that can be configured as a super-king upon request. There is an additional snug room on this level with a door to access the garden.
Outside, the elevated balcony is a wonderful feature of the home. Set with a table and chairs, this is the ideal spot for enjoying your meals alfresco. It is extra special on a balmy evening when you can sit outside and watch the sky dim and the lights of the town start to sparkle on the water. There is also an additional garden and sheltered patio area to the rear that’s ideal for a BBQ.
