Set within the pretty Norfolk village of Martham, this single-storey holiday cottage is a wonderful escape for a couple or small family. A selection of shops, pubs and restaurants surround the village green, less than a mile away, and there’s a variety of events and festivals throughout the year. The village is nestled on the southern edge of The Broads National Park, where you’ll find an abundance of scenic walks and boat trips along its 125 miles of waterways. And just 3.5 miles away is the coast if you’d prefer a wander along sandy shores. The dune-backed beach of Winterton-on-Sea is a highlight, or you could venture 5 miles from the cottage to Horsey Gap, home to a common seal colony – if you visit during the winter, there’s a good chance of spotting some fluffy seal pups.
Step through the front door to be greeted by bright and stylish interiors. An open-plan lounge/dining room is a relaxing spot to take the weight off your feet: make yourselves comfortable on the sofa and settle in for a film on the Smart TV. A dining table by the window allows for sociable mealtimes, with homecooked delights that you’ve whipped up in the adjacent kitchen. When the day draws to a close, you can retire to one of the two bedrooms, a king-size with a door to the rear garden, or a cosy single. A family bathroom completes the interior of the cottage.
Outside, an enclosed rear garden is bordered by plants. On a sunny day, take a seat at the table on the raised decking and dine alfresco under the shade of the parasol.
