This fabulous retreat for larger families or groups of friends is tucked away in a quiet corner on the outskirts of the small town of Leiston, where there is a local supermarket and two corner shops, as well as some lovely eateries to enjoy. The property overlooks Leiston Abbey and is only 2 miles from the Suffolk coast. You will find an abundance of interesting places to visit and things to do nearby, including Sizewell Beach (2.5 miles), Thorpeness (3.5 miles), Aldeburgh (5 miles) and Dunwich (6.5 miles). RSPB Minsmere, 3.5 miles, is a particular highlight and offers a great day out for ornithologists, families and walkers alike.
Spacious and stylish, this detached house has immense appeal from the moment you step through the front door. Enter the open-plan lounge, with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow light to flood through, and you’ll find velvet-upholstered seating in jewel tones, with a long dining table behind – a wonderful place to gather in the evening and celebrate the good life together. The L-shaped kitchen flows from here, separated by a couple of steps in the timber flooring, and is a similarly bright and airy space, sociable for the cook and with double doors onto the garden. Also on this floor are two handsome twin bedrooms, which can be made up as a king-size/super-king-size (respectively) on request, as well as a family shower room. Stairs from the dining area lead to the mezzanine, overlooking the living space, which has a desk and chair as well as an armchair and bookshelves – a neat little spot in which to catch up on some emails or while away the time with a novel. From here, doors lead to the beautiful king-size bedroom and a fabulous family bathroom.
The enclosed courtyard garden has outside seating for six people and a BBQ, a great place to gather and enjoy a meal alfresco. There are also recliners where you can spend a relaxing few hours in the sun. From the larger ground-floor bedroom, glazed doors lead to a separate patio with a table and chairs for two.
