This chocolate-box cottage is situated in the pretty village of Georgeham, within 2 miles of the picturesque North Devon coast. Sleeping six guests, the property is perfect for families or groups of friends. The cottage is close to North Devon’s finest beaches, including Putsborough, Woolacombe, Saunton Sands and Croyde. You’ll also have the Southwest Coast Path on your doorstep, and the remote landscape of Exmoor National Park is 12 miles away.

The accommodation is full of charm and character with both low beamed ceilings and latch doors throughout, as befits this 400-year-old country cottage.  The farmhouse style kitchen with its flagstone floor, has all you need to prepare a full evening meal or simply that morning coffee to take outside.  A handy utility and cloakroom are also on the ground floor.  The inviting lounge/diner is light and full of charm with beamed ceilings and comfortable sofas - to snuggle up in front of the wood burner after a day at the beach or watch your favorite movie on the Smart TV.  For evening meals, the dining table offers views across the pretty garden.  Cottage style stairs take you to the first floor, where you will find three bedrooms – a king-size, double, and twin – all with wooden beams and floorboards and traditional sloping ceilings.  The family bathroom is also conveniently on the upstairs floor.

The pretty conservatory is a real sun trap with comfortable rattan furniture and leads to the fully enclosed south facing garden which has a lawn for children and dogs to play plus a two-level patio with furniture for al fresco dining and a seating area to watch the sunset with your favourite drink.

Georgeham has two popular village pubs - both within a few minutes’ walk - perfect for refuelling after a day on the beach, long walk, or game of golf. The property is 1.2 miles from Putsborough Beach, with its long stretch of golden sand, beachfront cafe, fantastic surfing conditions and, quite possibly, the best sunsets in North Devon. A 3-mile walk along the shore brings you to Woolacombe. This popular seaside resort has an excellent range of eateries and is also a great place to try a whole host of outdoor activities, including paddleboarding, surfing or perhaps even horse riding.

Cottage was even more beautiful than I had expected. Very cosy in the evening with the log burner alight. Excellent provision made for my dog including doggy treats and dog bowls. I look forward to returning at some point for another stay.

The cottage is well equipped and clean with lots of little touches that raise the bar above average. The rooms are well laid out and decoration is in keeping with a cottage of this age with a modern twist for home comforts. Position within the village is good, just off the main road through the village, close to local store and two drcent pubs. TheRead more garden is enclosed and secure to keep the dogs safe and contained. We really liked the homely feel of the place and would not hesistate to return if it were not for the steep stairs that proved just a little too challenging for us. Hide

Kentisbury Cottage is a wonderfully comfortable home from home. It is what you would expect from a 500 year old cottage, low ceilings (watch those beams!), sloping floors and lots of character. The living room is a joy, light and airy and in the evenings, with the curtains drawn and log burner lit, it is so cosy! The cottage is well equipped to eatRead more in, but with Georgeham having two amazingly good pubs 2 minutes walk away its easy to eat out. We didn't have the greatest of weather but did have the chance to sit out in the garden, which apart from a grassed area has a very nice split level terrace area. The bed was extremely comfortable with high quality bedding. All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would love to return! Hide

Just had a lovely weekend break at Kentisbury Cottage which is full of character and so cosy with the wood burner. The village is great with the two pubs both serving local food. It was an ideal base to explore the coastline, hopefully we can come back for longer next time!

Had a wonderful time time in the cottage. Lovely building and perfect area to explore the Devon coastline. Milk from the local fam delicious and great to get fresh eggs just up the road. Have enjoyed Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe. Putsborough is our favourite beach for bodyboarding and sheltered sands, great loos and cafe.
