Perfectly placed on the edge of the village, this beautifully presented two-bedroom cottage is steeped in history, lovingly renovated from an old post office to create a charming retreat just a mile from the North Norfolk coastline. Heacham is a delightful village boasting some stunning beaches. North Beach (1.5 miles) and South Beach (less than 2 miles) offer calm waters ideal for paddling and adventurous water sports such as kayaking, kite and windsurfing; an afternoon’s tuition and lessons are available to be booked locally. Take a gentle stroll along the promenade that stretches along the shoreline to the neighbouring Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton, less than 2 miles away, and visit the local Sea Life Centre before enjoying the quintessentially seaside funfair. The area is a natural haven for bird watchers with two RSPB reserves close by at Snettisham and Titchwell with a variety of coastal paths to explore, 5 miles and 8 miles respectively.

The cottage welcomes you straight into the cosy yet spacious lounge, with a Smart TV and plenty of comfy seating wrapped around an exposed brick chimney breast that houses a beautiful wood burner. Following the original floorboards around the space, you’re met with a dining area complete with a compact wooden dining set, flooded by natural light from the large cottage window. The well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen boasts another dining table and everything you may need to cater. The rear of the cottage opens out onto a gorgeous light-filled conservatory with views over the garden. You’ll also find a contemporary family bathroom on this level. Upstairs, comprises one king-size bedroom boasting a grand four-poster bed, and a second bedroom with a set of bunk beds.

The cottage is perfectly located for exploring the Norfolk coast, Sandringham and Wroxham broad. It is spacious downstairs with excellent facilities. I am recently dsabled and had minor problems getting up from the sofas. I was aware of the bathroom being downstairs but by being careful I managed the stairs. I am 6 foot tall and this provided a cRead morehallenge accessing so.e parts of the property. Overall the cottage has charm and although the outside sitting area is limited but mitigated by Heacham beach nearby and a long promenade suitable for wheelchair use.. There was only my wife and I so the property more than fulfilled our needs. It would be a challenge accommodating 4 mature adults but when our children were younger they would have loved the bunk beds. The welcome pack was a nice touch. The owners were available if needed but we had no issues at all. Hide

All in all the cottage that we booked very very much last minute was really lovely - big enough for a couple & a doggie - minimal outdoor area to sit / play out in - but close enough to the beach. We ate in all week so the kitchen was "tested" & we had all the equipment we needed. Nice property overall, clean, spacious, lovely welcome pack. There is not a proper conservatory and what is described as a courtyard is a dark, damp very tiny space barely big enough for the small table and 2 chairs.

A lovely cosy cottage, great log burner for those chilly nights. One minute walk to the shop is helpful for supplies and 5 minute drive to the beach.

We stayed at Parcel Cottage this August, getting the best weather Norfolk has to offer and we fell in love with this beautiful area with so much to do! Evening swims at the beach whilst the sun was setting, a super day cycling the bikes we'd hired from the cycle shop in the village, Wednesday morning we enjoyed the car boot sale at the football cluRead moreb. Staying in such a well equipped and comfortable cottage meant we lacked for nothing! The beds were super comfy, and it was well decorated throughout. The owners are so attentive and helpful...they really have made it a true home from home. Thank you and I hope many others enjoy it! Hide

The standard of cleaning was low on arrival - lots of hair on floor and even in the sheets. Many cobwebs and lots of dust. The rules on the booking page did not reflect the terms set out in the property info at the cottage e.g. the booking said 'one dog' whereas the booklet at the property said 'one small or medium dog'. Also, the property bookletRead more said that the dog was not allowed on furniture or upstairs. I can't think of anyone who doesn't let their dog on furniture or prevents them from using an entire floor of the property, so I honestly think that this means the property is not dog friendly. The booklet also stated that the fireplace was out of order, even though when I contacted the host (who was very lovely and helpful) she said this was out of date and incorrect. We ran out of supplies that were listed as provided, and had to buy our own toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, laundry capsules, kitchen roll, and washing up brush. The private garden space wasn't attached to the property directly, but was accessed via a communal space. This was disappointing as it meant we couldn't safely and securely let our dog outside, as we didn't want her in the neighbours spaces or even escaping onto the road if a neighbour opened the shared gate.
