The village of Warkworth is almost completely encircled by the River Coquet and is dominated by the splendid medieval castle, moments from a superb sandy stretch and some of the loveliest river scenery in the county. Discover how the powerful Dukes of Northumberland lived at Warkworth Castle, 3 miles away, and enjoy a stroll through thousands of years of history with some spectacular river and coastal views from the castle walls. Half a mile upriver, board a guided rowing boat to view the world-famous Hermitage, a rock-hewn retreat with a poignant history. Lovers of wildlife will enjoy glorious walks beside the river and castle grounds to catch glimpse of red squirrels, deer and otters.

A spacious entrance hall welcomes you into the cottage and houses a handy freezer and washer/dryer, plus plenty of space for coat and boot storage. The beautiful, tiled floor leads you into the open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining room, complemented by a calming neutral colour palette and contemporary design and decor. Cleverly partitioned away from the rest of the space by lots of wonderful worktop space is the well-equipped kitchen, kitted out with everything you’ll need to get creative, plus a chic dining table and chairs. The cosy lounge space is defined by a comfy sofa and two matching armchairs wrapped around a Smart TV and an exposed brick fireplace with a wonderful wood burner. Upstairs, you’re met with a bright and airy king-size bedroom with stunning views of the countryside and open fields. You’ll also find a beautiful twin zip-and-link bedroom sharing the same simple yet elegant design as the rest of the property – this bedroom can be made into a king-size on request. This is a very nice cottage in a row of five close to a farm. We liked the visits from the cattle to the back fence. The position is good and the cottage well equipped and comfortable. There is a small garden and ample parking. Warkworth and Amble are very close and Alnwick not far. Although dogs are allowed there was no sign that they had been thRead moreere, which is important for us as we do not have dogs. Another good point about Northumberland is that we have never seen so many EV charging points and they all worked! In fact it was harder to find petrol. Hide

Absolutely beautiful cottage, very well equipped with pretty much everything we needed. Great location close to Alnwick, Warkworth and Amble, all less than 10 mins drive away Loads of things to see and do close enough to the cottage without having to drive miles and miles Roads are deserted as are the nearby beaches!

Lovely cottage in a very quiet, peaceful, easy to find location. Excellent base for exploring the NE Northumberland area. Well-equipped and everything was of a good quality standard.
