This spacious eco lodge offers a great base for up to four guests looking to enjoy a retreat in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The property is set on the owner’s grounds, in a tranquil spot outside the village of Beckley. There are footpaths from the door onto the Sussex walk and the local pub is 0.5 miles walk away along the lane. Visit historic Rye (7-miles) with its cobbled streets and antique shops, cafes, and restaurants. Winchelsea (10 miles) has smugglers caves and Camber Sands (10.5 miles) has 7-miles of golden sands and dunes to explore. Bodiam (7-miles) is a 14th-century moated castle now owned by the National Trust and Great Dixter House and Gardens (2.5 miles), an Edwin Lutyens design once owned by Christopher Lloyd, the famous gardening writer, is a wonderful day out. Tillingham vineyard (4 miles) is a biodynamic wine producer offering tours and tastings and has a restaurant.
Characterised by floor to ceiling wall of glass on one side allowing natural light to flood in, the property has been inspired by the sheilings (àirighean) that were once common in the Scottish Highlands and occupied by the workers while the cattle were out on their summer pastures. Set all on one level, the lodge also boasts an entire glazed wall running alongside the decked terrace. The spacious living area is open plan and has been furnished to a high standard offering comfortable seating area around the Smart TV, a dining table with four chairs and a fully equipped modern kitchen. There are two welcoming bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and one twin bedroom. The twin bedroom boasts a spacious walk in shower suitable for those with restricted mobility. The double bedroom has a luxury bath with a shower over. The whole property has wheelchair access.
The decked terrace area can be accessed from the lounge and both bedrooms. You can also simply enjoy a morning cuppa from your bed and watch the world wake up in front of you! In addition to the terrace with a table and chairs, sunshade and BBQ. Swing, table tennis table, trampoline and half size football pitch available during summer months. There are large areas of space for walking and playing.
