Situated in the peaceful village of East Rudham, you have the very best of Norfolk to explore in every direction from this property. Visit the stunning coastline, dotted with quaint villages and towns including Brancaster (12 miles) and Wells-next-the-Sea (14 miles). The salt marshes at Cley (20 miles) are an absolute haven for bird watchers, and Blakeney Point (20 miles) is home to the country’s largest colony of grey seals. The pretty Georgian town of Holt is just 18 miles away, as is Houghton Hall (3 miles). For a fantastic day out, visit the medieval city of Norwich (24 miles), and discover the abundance of beautiful architecture on show, not to mention the variety of shops on offer. Just under 30 miles away, you can visit the Norfolk Steam Railway at the seaside town of Sheringham or head to the traditional seaside resort of Cromer, famous for its crab.

Set across two floors, this homely and characterful semi-detached holiday home is the ideal base for couples looking to explore fabulous Norfolk. The cottage is in the East Rudham Conservation Area and dates back about 200 years; it has a traditional Norfolk winder staircase. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner offers a wonderful social aspect to your stay, with the well-equipped kitchen offering everything any budding chefs among you could need to prepare anything from a light morning snack to a hearty evening meal. The dining area will comfortably seat all guests and is perfect for dining at home for any occasion. After a busy day out exploring the local area, you can sit back and relax in the lounge with its comfortable sofa and two armchairs perfectly positioned around the smart TV and the wood burner – the ideal spot for relaxing nights in with loved ones. The cottage benefits from a downstairs double bedroom and a small en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath, washbasin and a WC. The ground-floor bedroom creates a welcoming and cosy atmosphere but there is limited headroom above the bath in the small ensuite bathroom. Taller guests may wish to opt for the spacious king-size bedroom upstairs, also with an ensuite shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, there is a secluded garden with garden furniture immediately opposite the house. Here you have a wonderful place to catch the sun and listen to the birdsong whilst you enjoy some drinks and dine al fresco.

A great winter bolthole in NW Norfolk. East Rudham is well located for a drive to the coast and to explore the surrounding villages and towns. The cottage is very well equipped for self catering, the bed is comfortable (upstairs, downstairs not required) and the lounge was cosy in the evening by the fire. Lovely old cottage full of character. Very comfortable beds and no shortage of hot water. Despite the frost and snow the cottage remained warm and cosy. The log burner was a bonus and added an authentic atmosphere to our evenings. Really good WiFi and a well equipped kitchen. My only complaint would be the TVs. Very basic and not that easy to use.Read more The main TV is connected to a dvd player via a scart lead. Really? My advice, ditch the dvd player and upgrade to a smart TV.
