Immerse yourself in the wonderful sights and sounds of the Suffolk countryside in this lovely spacious home, enveloped by trees and a pretty meadow filled with wildflowers, birds, and bees. Perfectly situated to enjoy the delights that Woodbridge has to offer (4 miles), with its fantastic array of local and independent shops, pubs, and eateries. The popular ‘Unruly Pig’ gastro pub is less than a mile away too. Stop by Sutton Hoo (3 miles); a National Trust site, home to an ancient Anglo-Saxon archaeological discovery, and where the hit movie ‘The Dig’ was filmed. In the opposite direction (9 miles), is the quaint and quintessential hamlet of Orford. This sleepy sailing village is simply stunning with its gorgeous period homes, a delicious bakery, traditional smokehouse, famous for its salmon and oysters, and a wonderful selection of pubs. You couldn’t be better placed to revel in this super spot in Suffolk.

This wonderful family holiday home is the ideal countryside escape for gatherings of your nearest and dearest to come together. With plenty of space both inside and out, there is room for everyone – even the dogs! At the heart of the home is the superbly equipped kitchen, with a large island for cook and an AGA. The kitchen leads straight onto the terrace and garden, where you can prepare some delicious feasts on the BBQ. Or you could opt for a formal meal in the dining room which also benefits from a piano for those who wish to play. There is also a great supply of games suitable for all the family. The handy utility room has plenty of storage, as well as space for the dogs, muddy boots, and coats. There are two living spaces on offer: a snug with comfy sofas, a smart TV, and a library of great books and films, as well as a more formal sitting room boasting a roaring wood burner and additional smart TV. Two of the four bedrooms are on the ground floor, both with super-king-size zip-and-link beds that can be made up as twin beds if required, both have lovely views of the garden and shared use of the ground floor bathroom, making this a great place for multi-generational holidays. Upstairs has the remaining two bedrooms; a cosy double that has use of the shower room close by and a sizeable king-size room with gorgeous views over the meadow and an ensuite bathroom.

The barn is set within generous grounds and offers two wonderful gardens. To the front of the property is a pretty garden that captures the morning sunshine whilst the rear garden looks over the meadows and is ideal for alfresco dining, watching the impressive sunsets, and games of rounders on the large lawn. In the garage there is a ping pong table and further outdoor games to be enjoyed. There are many great walks directly from the barn, through the meadow and along the river to the nearest pub in Ufford or through the village and across to Rendlesham Forest.

Hempland Barn is a beautiful property in stunning countryside. The kitchen was very well equipped and we spent a lot of time around the table there enjoying the views. It would be really good in warm weather as the patio and garden are beautiful.

Lovely location and garden. Spacious and well-equipped. With ground-floor bedrooms and a ground-floor bathroom it was well-equipped for elderly or disabled family-members. The welcome pack was good.

The cottage is in a great area for exploring Suffolk. It's a good size with a big garden. I would imagine in the summer months the lakes would be good for swimming and playing in. The oven could do with replacing as it is old and not in keeping. Another walk in shower would be good, as there is only one. Hide

This is a splendid property, very typically English with beautiful settings. It should be rented and lived in, made the most of and enjoyed morning and evening. It provides everything a large family gathering will need!
