The village has a general store, three friendly pub/restaurants, a children’s play area, and a popular, scenic golf course. Walk up the coast to Low Newton and enjoy a drink and lunch in the beachside pub. Try rock pooling and water sports at Beadnell Bay with its beachside café and two pub/restaurants. The coastal path walk takes you past the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle and on to the harbour village of Craster with a great, beach-front seafood restaurant, a café and the homemade food and kippers at the fabulous car park eatery is a must. Visit nearby Howick Hall and Gardens, the former home of Earl Grey, and the magnificent Alnwick Castle and Gardens (9 miles).

Head through the front door into the hallway where you can store your outdoor clothing and walking boots. Enter the light and airy, open-plan lounge/dining room with high ceilings and dual aspect windows flooding natural light into the room. There is plenty of comfortable seating to relax on in front of the cosy wood burner after your days exploring outdoors and there is a Smart TV, books, and games for your entertainment. At mealtimes, you can enjoy time together sitting at the large dining table with views of the rear garden and the family cook can prepare tasty meals in the well-equipped kitchen with their own view of the rear garden. The utility room is off the kitchen overlooking the rear garden and features a useful additional sink, a washing machine, and a tumble dryer. The rear door from the garden leads into the boot room with a stone floor and a bench seat, perfect when coming in from a walk with wet boots and dogs. Off the hallway, there is a shower room downstairs with a shower cubicle and WC. At bedtime, you will find the three bedrooms upstairs, each with plenty of storage space for your things. The spacious king-size bedroom has views over the open countryside toward Dunstanburgh Castle. There is also a lovely twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom with views of the castle and sea. There is a pull-out trundle bed in the bunk bedroom for an additional child guest if required. The family bathroom has a large, walk-in shower, a separate bath, and WC.

Outside to the front, there is a south-facing garden where you can sit with a drink, and to the rear, you will find a large, enclosed garden where the children and dogs can run around and play. The whole property was beautifully presented and very comfortable. The short walk to the beach was fantastic and perfect for early morning dog walks. The fully enclosed front and back garden was also a great plus with the dog, and larger than expected. Such a wonderful location to explore the Northumberland coast, just a pity we were only there forRead more a week. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you! Hide
