A peaceful eco-friendly retreat ideal for two couples or a family of four to escape to the Norfolk countryside. Taking inspiration from traditional Norfolk ‘clay lump’ barns, the eco lodge annexe to the neighbouring property is built using hempcrete, tying up five tonnes of carbon in its walls, and saving up to 50 tonnes of CO2 compared with a usual cottage construction. Roof mounted solar panels and air source heating further reduce your carbon footprint whilst staying at the Eco Lodge. Ketteringham Hall (200yds) is surrounded by open parkland, Lady Belt Country Park (2.2 miles) and conservation areas that create a haven for wildlife. The Hall’s Orangery, which was once Team Lotus’ drawing office, now houses the Orangery Tearooms; enjoy a lunch or afternoon tea. Wymondham (3.7 miles) is the closest market town with traditional shops, pubs, an Abbey and supermarkets. There is a park and ride for Norwich 4 miles away, where you can enjoy the artistic and historic culture as well as activities for all ages.
Escape to the countryside in this eco-minded, traditional Norfolk property situated in beautiful open woodland, perfect for small families and provides over-flow accommodation for its neighbouring property. When booked together, you will have comfortable accommodation for up to 10 people across two properties, suitable for multi-generational and two-family getaways. The ground level flooring is locally sourced and manufactured Norfolk clay pamments, further enhancing the traditional feel of the house. The open plan kitchen and living area have been kept elegantly minimalist so as not to distract from the inspiring woodland views from the large patio doors and are fully equipped with comfortable seating and everything required to cook a meal for your family and relax after a long day exploring. Upstairs, there are two modern and bright bedrooms: one king-size perfect for recharging, and one twin with stunning woodland views; there is also a first-floor shower room.
Through the patio doors there is a large east and south-facing patio, perfect for sitting out in the morning sun, with a view of St Peter’s church and the Ketteringham Hall’s historic gates. Whilst the rear of this property is not enclosed, it does provide some outdoor space for your furry friend.
