Originally built during the reign of George III, this beautiful cottage is set back slightly from the bustle of the coast creating a haven to relish in for your family holiday, or your trip with friends. On the outskirts of the regal Sandringham estate, which you will get to enjoy on your way to the cottage, Dersingham is one of the largest villages in West Norfolk with pubs and shops to enjoy. Dersingham Bog (3.5 miles) and Sandringham Estate (800m) is just a stone’s throw away, both boasting natural beauty to walk through. The closest beach is Snettisham, where you can enjoy long walks across the stunning coastline and observe the wildlife at the RSPB-administered wetland housing many bird species. For a day trip further afield, Norfolk Lavender (6 miles) and Hunstanton (8.5 miles) make great days out.

Once three separate cottages all in different states of repair, this end of the terrace cottage has been transformed into a peaceful coastal retreat for a small family or friends wanting to spend some quality time together. The terrace is set within the confines of a medieval moat, signs of which are still present in the meadow on the right-hand side as you walk toward the church. Upon entering the cottage, to the left there is a spacious kitchen/diner with ample equipment for cooking delicious meals and sitting down to enjoy them together. Through the kitchen, there is also a utility room which used to be a piggery before the property was renovated, there is also a sleek ground floor shower room. To the right of the hallway, you are met by a warm and cosy sitting room with a gorgeous neutral design; there is comfortable seating, a Smart TV, and a wood burning stove. Upstairs, there are two light and airy bedrooms: one king-size and one twin, both looking out into the greenery outside the cottage. There is also a stylish first-floor bathroom.

To the front of the cottage, there is a courtyard patio with a dining set surrounded by trees and greenery, accessed from the side or the front of the property, There is an enclosed lawn area at the rear of the cottage with seating and a barbecue, perfect for those summer evenings. There is also a handy outside tap for washing off muddy paws.

Lovely house, well laid out with plenty of equipment for use of people staying in the property. We didn't need to buy anything extra for our stay to cook or carry out any tasks required, and we also made use of the outside hose to wash off our dog once which was great. Beds were comfy and the water was lovely and hot. It did take some working ouRead moret how to get heating, but we managed to switch it on/off manually so this was not a big issue for us. There is a lovely big playing field just behind the house so this was a good place to stretch our dog's legs. It's not too far to drive out to some of the local beaches, however it amused us that we didn't see the 'sea' it was too far out! Must have been the time of year. We did the country fair at Sandringham which was a wonderful day out and we went to Holkham Hall twice which was also a lovely walk out. Tea room and the pub in the village are both nice. We also did use the kebab shop once and this was ok too. A lovely place to stop and very nicely decorated. If you are coming with your dog please note that they are not allowed upstairs, but the garden is very secure and well enclosed. They also supplied a feeding mat, extra bowls, dog towels which was a lovely touch. Hide

Bay Tree Cottage is a delightful property set in a lovely peaceful village setting, so close to the Sandringham Estate, where they are lovely walks through the woods. The cottage is decorated, furnished and supplied to a high standard with everything we needed for our stay. It was perfect for us and our two dogs. The supply of treats, a dog bed, ouRead moretside tap, water bowl and poo bags were great and we made use of them all. Our favourite area on warm days and evenings was sitting in the patio area to the front of the property, where there is a table and chairs and dappled shade from the trees. Our lurcher dogs loved that area too as there was plenty of room there for them to wander, sniff and relax in safety with us being able to shut the gates to the property. We absolutely loved our time at Bay Tree Cottage and hope to be back! Hide
