The pretty and distinctly Derbyshire village of Tideswell sits in the heart of the White Peak, an area known for its dramatic scenery; cut among limestone, it is in an area of outstanding beauty. The village itself was built in the 14th century, and boasts great local pubs, two restaurants, cafes, fish and chip shops, and sandwich shops, as well as a butcher, baker and greengrocer. It is surrounded by must-visit towns. There are excellent walking routes with rugged peaks to the north, gentle hills and dales to the south and Millers Dale just 4 miles outside the village. Eyam, with its eery and fascinating history of being “The Plague Village” sits just 5 miles to the East of Tideswell. Chatsworth House, Mam Tor and Castleton are both within 11 miles and the popular spa town of Buxton is an 8 mile trip.

Once inside the cottage you will soon notice the modern and stylish interior whilst still having features and decor that compliments the age and style of the property. Step into the impressive hallway which leads you into the living room, a light, open and stunning space with an open fire making it perfect for a cosy evening in after exploring the peaks. Down the hallway there is a dining room, a large and well-equipped space that has a wooden dining table that looks out onto the garden, a wood burner, and a Victorian dresser. The kitchen sits just off from this room and is well equipped with a large range cooker and everything required to cook up a feast. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, 1 king-size, 1 super-king-size zip-and-link which can be made up as two singles if required, and 1 single. A family bathroom completes the first floor. Each room has a unique feel and makes use of great colour splashes. Antiques blended with beautiful paint colours and homely touches make this cottage a comfortable, unique, and invigorating space to enjoy.

Outside there is a private, enclosed garden with lovely views back over the town, where you can find a dining area and a BBQ for alfresco dining. Perfect for warm summer evenings, or to start your day with your favourite morning brew.

What a fabulous house! We loved every minute being in there, the owners have created a warm and cozy environment that we hardly wanted to leave. There is a wonderful mix of antiques with modern furniture, the decor is gorgeous, the beds are comfortable and the log fires just divine. We especially liked the underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathRead moreroom, the huge range, the comfy chairs in the living area by the fire and the beautiful, original floor tiles in the hall. The whole place is just wonderful, high class quality and we will be back. Oh, and we did notice that the village, Tideswell, and the surrounding countryside was beautiful too!! Hide

We absolutely love this place. Everything was perfect. It has been a very varied week: Mam Tor, Neighbourhood walks, Bakewell, Buxton, Manchester/football match. Best dinner - The Swan in Kettleshulme (but all the local places were great too!). We would definitely like to come again. Thank you for the wine and mild. We felt like home - but away.
