Explore the nearby historic towns of Tenterden (5 miles) and Rye (8 miles), with their quaint cobbled streets and medieval architecture and the National Trust properties of Small Hythe Place (2.6 miles), Sissinghurst Castle (10 miles), Scotney Castle (12 miles). Venture further afield to the stunning beaches of Camber Sands (11 miles), Winchelsea Beach and Pett Level (11 miles). Keen foodies can explore a variety of local pubs and restaurants on offer serving delicious locally sourced produce or hop in the car to explore the many local vineyards in the area. Families will enjoy a visit to the nearby Kent & East Sussex Railway which runs from Teneterden to Bodiam Castle stopping at Wittersham Station which is only 1 mile from the cottage.
You are welcomed into the spacious, relaxed countryside inspired property with open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner that overlooks the garden with a large comfy corner sofa and two armchairs arranged around the wood burner and Smart TV. This is a fantastic space for getting the family together or just perfect for curling up on a chilly afternoon and enjoying a good book. The kitchen area has been thoughtfully designed with everything you may need for whipping up delicious family meals before heading to the dining table. The ground floor offers three bedrooms, all of which have a Smart TV: two super king-size zip n link bedrooms (that can be made into a twin on request), one of which has an ensuite shower room and patio doors that open up to enjoy the garden. The remaining bedroom is a bunk bedroom (small single mattress). The ground floor is completed with a family shower room and a handy utility cupboard. Heading upstairs there is a large games room with a multi-functional games table that offers pool, air hockey, and table tennis – perfect for keeping everyone entertained on rainy days. At the opposite end of the room is a Smart TV and a day bed that can provide additional sleeping for two guests with an additional single trundle.
Patio doors lead out into the fully enclosed garden which is a delight to spend time in and soak up the sunshine. Cleverly designed so that all the family are catered for, there is a wood fired hot tub where you can relax with a glass of something chilled and watch the sunset over the countryside, patio seating and a gas BBQ for outside entertaining and a firepit with seating - perfect for toasting marshmallows whilst star gazing in the evening.
