The location was excellent, with sandy beaches and National Trust sites all within a 30-minute drive. Its also extremely dog-friendly, with a secure garden for smaller pets. Beautiful cosy cottage in a peaceful rural location with lovely walks on the doorstep. Really enjoyed the wood fired hot tub and the log burner in the cold January weather. We had a fabulous family Christmas weekend at Moon Cottage. Everything you could need had been provided, it felt like an home from home. This cottage rates as one of our top three. Beautifully decorated and furnished and is well maintained. The bedding and towels are all good quality and very clean, the 6' bed (Master) is extremely comfortable. The whole property is very clean, warm and comfortable. The parking area is well lit as is the pathway to/from the property. The kitchRead moreen has everything you need, plenty of crockery, cuttlery, pots and pans, easy to use appliances (good instructions provided). The lighting throughout the property has been well thought out, ambient, task and accent have all been considered. The Property Manual has a lot of useful information and worth looking thru for "things-to-do and places-to-see". The owners have thought of absolutely everything to make you feel at home, and when I couldnt figure out how to use the speakers he phoned to help within minutes! Fantastic stay! The cottage was very clean with a great layout bedrooms downstairs and a play loft upstairs. Stunning views over the fields with sheep and cows. There was a public footpath through the sheep meadow, allowing for easy walks right from the cottage with the dogs. The location was perfect, not far from Tenterden for groceries at WaitroRead morese or Tesco, and Rye was also close by. We enjoyed using the jacuzzi, and it was convenient to have apps like Netflix already installed on the TV. Highly recommended! Hide

Property booked for a family trip. 6 people in total all adult. On arrival we were left easy to follow instructions on how to enter the property. Property entered via a beautifully landscaped garden with views of farmers fields. The house sat perfectly within the scenic environment. The house itself was ideal for our family and exceeded expectationRead mores. The decoration was very apt for a modern rustic feel. The house was spotlessly clean and well kitted out for a weeks stay. There was plenty of room for the whole family to relax in the open planned lounge/kitchen diner. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and dining. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds extremely comfortable. Each room also housing a TV. Our son stayed in the games room on a bed/sofa which I was concerned about pre arrival but he loved the room and the bed. My concern was his height, 62 but he was very comfortable. The games room was well used although I did hit my head a few times on the eaves! The hot tub was wood fired and easy to use. The owners have obviously had comfort, cleanliness and relaxation in mind. No stone has been left unturned, theyve carefully thought about everything for a wonderful stay. The location is ideal for visits to local areas of interest. Ashford designer area is also quite close. Tesco is also close for food stops. If you enjoy walking and cycling its an idea spot. Exceptional property which caters for all. Ian and Louise have made the cottage very homely with all modern gadgets etc. Hours of fun playing the endless games and obviously the easy to use hot tub. Would definitely stay again and we imagined how cosy it would be on a cold winters night with log burner on.Maybe one day.

The cottage was beautiful and very cosy. The underfloor heating was lovely and there was the option of lighting a fire if needed [inc marshmallows for toasting]. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was a nice touch of some milk, various coffee and tea options and a few lovely treats left by the owners. This has to be the best cottage I have ever rented. Everything has been thought of, the decor and furniture are beautiful, the cottage layout is perfect for groups, the games table is an excellent addition and we had great fun using it. My wife and I chose Moon Cottage for a much-needed getaway to rest, recuperate, and re-charge, and we truly couldn't have asked for a better holiday to fill the bill. Ian and Louise have created an oasis of quiet comfort in the Kent countryside, the perfect spot to light a fire in the wood burning stove, curl up with a cup of tea and a good book, aRead morend relax. We cooked in the professionally-equipped kitchen, lounged on the comfort sofa and took in movies as night settled over the Kent landscape, and explored Tenterden and Rye during daytime forays. We have stayed in many holiday lets around the world over decades of travel, and none were better equipped and maintained than Moon Cottage. Im already feeling Moon Cottage blues after our short break I booked to spend quality time with my mum,dad & their dogs and the owners were very welcoming into their beautiful cottage the magic was walking in to it being decorated for Xmas & little extras cookies & marshmallows it felt luxurious with the decor, the underfloor heating in the shower Read moreroom to the cosy sofa in front of the fire not to mention the location which offered lovely country walks with our English setters to the stunning sunsets & moon view early morning. The games room was an extra I have always enjoyed playing air hockey with my Dad so it was fun to find it there & have a game. The house was immaculate (which is rare), beautiful grounds/setting (you need a car though), extremely helpful host and information that was left! Were already wondering when we can go back! Only slight criticism is the bathroom door is broken (we didnt alert the host at the time, Im sure theyd have rectified it if we did) and if you shut the door you got locked in - this needs to be fixed. Also, the hot tub is wood fire and we tried for hours to get it warm and kept the fire going but it didnt heat up, maybe its due to the weather being too cold for this to work. Well, how wonderful was that? From the moment we arrived having travelled through picturesque Kentish countryside and villages, to the morning we left, we were charmed by Moon Cottage. We stayed during glorious weather so were able to make the most of the garden. However, with a cosy and welcoming interior we can imagine coming back during the winRead moreter and cosying up in the lovely open plan kitchen, dining and living area complete with wood burning fire. My husband loves his smart TV at home and is seldom happy with IT provision when away but the smart TV with excellent sound system provided all the entertainment we are used to at home. We also loved the Nespresso machine and multi-purpose games room. With a secure garden we were able to let the family dog explore outside The well equipped kitchen was impressive but apart from breakfast we found plenty of pubs to enjoy for eating out. The Ferry Inn was particularly good. We feel there is much more to explore and enjoy in the area so plan to return for another short break later in the year. Hide

As one of Moon Cottages first ever visitors we felt very privileged. It is absolutely beautiful and I loved the interior design. The finish, fixtures and fittings are all exquisite, no expense has been spared. The towels, beds and bedlinen are sumptuous. We only used the ensuite shower but it is the best shower I have ever used. There are some gRead morereat touches like laminated local walking routes and binoculars. The owners really have thought of everything. The weather was incredible during our stay and the view from the garden is amazing. I saw sheep, cows, a heron, rabbits, swans and a hawk diving for prey. Early on Sunday morning two hot air balloons were in the sky. It felt so peaceful. I could have stayed forever. We went into Rye and loved the cobbled Mermaid Street and antique shops. We had a pub lunch and then took the dog for a walk on Camber Sands. The beach is absolutely beautiful. We cant wait to return. We went to two other local pubs for great meals, The Ewe and Lamb and The Kings Head in Rye. There is so much to visit in the area and we will definitely return in future. Hide
