Mumbles is a coastal village located in Swansea and is a popular tourist destination known for its scenic beauty, charming character and vibrant culture. The pier, which is the oldest remaining cast-iron pier, offers stunning views of the coastline and is a popular spot for fishing and crabbing. Visit Langland Bay (1.5 miles), a well-known surfing area which has a great brasserie and cafe on the beach. The village is also known for its independent shops, galleries, and restaurants, which offer a range of local and international cuisine. You can also explore the local beaches at Caswell Bay, or take a longer walk along the scenic coastal path to Three Cliffs and beyond. The city of Swansea with its marina and many attractions is 4.5 miles away, whilst Rhossili Bay Beach is 17 miles away. Captivating Worms Head Causeway (17 miles) is definitely worth a visit, providing a host of walking opportunities along with the option to view the famous Devil’s Bridge.

The semi-detached property occupies a very unique, tucked-away location on Mumbles Hill. It overlooks the nature reserve and is accessed around 100 metres up a fairly steep footpath. Enter by the side gate then take the steps up to the front door and into the hallway. The property has been tastefully decorated throughout with homely features to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Walk through to the dining area which has a table and chairs; an adjoining sunroom offers additional seating where you can relax and take in the scenery. Also on this floor is a single bedroom; a kitchen area with everything you need to whip up a tasty meal; a family bathroom with bath, shower and WC, and a utility area with a washing machine and a freezer. Off the hallway, six stairs take you to the bright, elevated lounge with a large picture window offering breathtaking views. Patio doors lead to a balcony with views of Oystermouth, and there is also comfortable seating, a TV and a wood burner for a cosy night in. The lower level takes you to two bedrooms - a king-size which can alternatively be made up as a twin, and a double.

Outside, settle down and enjoy the evening sun on the decked area with furniture, or enjoy the lawned garden to the side.

Its a lovely cottage with a quirky upside down layout which I enjoyed, there is enough space for the days when the weathers bad and people need their own space to do their own thing. I guess the elephant in the room is the path up to the house, its long and uphill, so not for everyone, personally I was glad of the opportunity to get a bit fitter. TRead morehe rubbish recycling situation needs some explanation, one bag for paper and cardboard, another bag for cans and bottles, bags for food waste, but no bag for plastic. On arrival our outside dustbin was already full, it should have been emptied, we contacted the help line and were told to take our rubbish and the black bin liner from the dustbin down to the road on Wednesday ready for collection on Thursday, that seemed to work, but what about all the rubbish sorting wed done, was that a waste of time? 1 Briarhurst is a very well appointed cottage in such a lovely location. There are views of Mumbles beach from the lounge and the house is large, comfortable and well equipped. The cottage is walking distance from town, the seafront and Bracelet Bay (if you dont mind hills!) I really recommend walking via the coastal path if you have time, it is soRead more beautiful and my children loved discovering the remnants of the WWII Home Front! There is so much to do and see in the area, we were spoilt for choice. Nishimura restaurant at the bottom of the hill is amazing! Caswell beach was fun and Rhossilli beach is a stunning highlight slightly farther away. Swansea has lots to offer families on rainy days too, Oriel Science was great. The cottage was a brilliant place to spend time and the hills and carrying our suitcases kept us fit! Hide

This is a really lovely holiday house with fabulous views over the bay and spacious, comfortable rooms. There are so many nice places to sit and read and even listening to the rain was a genuine pleasure. There was also a nice big dining table and one of the best equipped kitchens we've ever had in a holiday house. It is worth mentioning that tRead morehis house can only be accessed by walking up a steep track so probably isn't suitable if you have mobility problems or aren't able to carry your belongings up a hill. We actually loved the adventure of this and were much fitter by the end of the week as a result! Hide
