Available to holiday in for the first time in over 15 years, this cottage is a contemporary yet charming cottage and ideally situated in the heart of the town within easy reach of all amenities and only steps from the beach. The private parking allows you to leave your car and fully explore at your leisure. This charming cottage retains unique period features alongside contemporary comforts and is incredibly unique in what it offers. The kitchen is sleek and stylish with all the quality Miele appliances you could need to ensure an easy self-catering experience. The dining area makes for a lovely space to gather all together whilst enjoying some delicious feasts. You can also slide back the bi-fold doors to let the sea breeze trickle flow through. A handy stylish and convenient shower room and utility cupboard is found here too on the same level. Double doors open to a spacious utility area/boot room; convenient for unloading things after a brisk walk or day at the beach. The living room is spacious yet warm and welcoming with oak floorboards and a smart wall desk to write postcards from! Sit back and relax on the comfy sofas with a good book or watch a movie. Upstairs hosts all accommodation for five guests across three bedrooms. The principal bedroom has a sumptuous king-size bed with a further two bedrooms offering a twin and single and all share the family bathroom.

Outside, there is a beautifully landscaped garden which offers a private oasis to enjoy for your first cup of tea in the mornings or alfresco suppers in the evening. There is a table with six chairs. Lavender, roses and clematis adorn the borders underneath the Pleached Holm Oak which afford both privacy and shade in summer. There is also an outside shower to wash those sandy toes following a day on the beach.

Despite the problems detailed above the stay was a HUGE success. The cottage is beautiful- very light and airy. The china, glass etc were exceptional and the bedding beds and furnishings fantastic. The parking space was brilliant and the location could not be bettered- especially the closeness of 'the Nelson'! We ALL loved it there

Mariners Cottage is perfectly situated within Southwold. Plenty of space for a family of four, with decor that immediately gives one the sense of having a home away from home. Looking forward to coming back!

This is an excellent choice for a family let. Southwold is a lovely place to come, full of charm and with great amenities, even if after a couple of days you feel they should re-name it 'Adnamsville'. Location of this property couldn't be better -- a few minutes' walk from the beach and the shops. Though in the town centre it's not at all noisy (exRead morecept for the seagulls, of course). Having two bathrooms is a bonus, and there's an outside shower as well for sandy feet. The kitchen is well equipped -- one of the best we've encountered in many years of holiday cottages. Nice lounge with large screen TV and Wi-Fi worked fine. Decor is a bit bland but if you're not looking for 'period' charm it's light and comfortable, which is all we wanted. The only downside to this property is the parking. The space is inside the property -- taking up nearly half the back yard -- and is awkward to manoeuvre into and out of. Access is via a sliding gate and once you're in there's very little room. We have a VW Passat estate and it barely fitted -- we couldn't open the boot once the gate was closed. If you have anything bigger this would be a real issue and should be signalled in the details. One more point about the seagulls. They really are a feature, and occasionally a nuisance. If their raucous presence bothers you, then think again; and the outside dining table and chairs, and the car, occasionally got spattered. Such are the hazards of seaside holidays. We had a great time notwithstanding! Hide

Very comfortable property in a brilliant location. Kitchen was very well-equipped so catering during our stay (especially Xmas and Boxing Day) was a breeze.

Lovely comfy and well equipped house in a fantastic location close to beach and shops. Very comfortable beds and the standard of furnishings and appliances etc is very high. Great to have a parking space. Would love to stay there again!
