This pretty cottage is on the edge of the picture postcard village of Croyde which is famous for its golden sandy beach and is a mecca for surfing. Other water sports can be enjoyed on this beach or just spend the day lazing on the sand or enjoying a cream tea in one of the many cafes and tearooms. Other close-by beaches include Woolacombe (4 miles), a surfer’s paradise, with 3 miles of golden sands and great for swimming – or just take a stroll around the village’s shops and cafes. Walkers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to trails, with the South West Coast Path to explore or you can venture a bit further (13 miles) to Exmoor National Park with its stunning woodland walks and magical moorlands, where you will see the red deer and Exmoor ponies wandering the hillsides.
After a busy day at the beach, take off those sandy shoes and relax in this bright and cosy cottage. Snuggle up in front of the warming wood burner in the lounge and enjoy a favourite box set or movie on the Smart TV. The light and airy kitchen has everything you need to whip up a hearty breakfast to start the next day of adventure. The games/snug room is great for children and completing the downstairs is a utility room and a shower room with WC. Take the stairs to the three bedrooms. There is a king-size bedroom, a double with a zip-and-link bed that can be made up as twins on request, and a double bunk bed. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath.
Outside, steps lead up to the tiered garden. The top tier is a grassy area with decking and patio furniture and a charcoal BBQ; a great place to enjoy dining alfresco on the warmer evenings. From the landing, there is a door that takes you outside to another patio with a dining table and chairs. You can view the sea and Lundy on a clear day from this garden.
