We had a wonderful week in a beautiful cottage. Great location and excellent base for days out all within a 30 minute drive or walk. Property just needs a few little basic things to make it the perfect holiday stay.

The property looks like it was recently renovated and much of it seemed fairly new and was quite comfortable. It is well situated for the harbour and local restaurants, all within walking distance. The property is not very private from the road or in the concreted backyard, so you might want to keep the blinds closed. We always found parking availRead moreable on the road by the house. Amble was a good base for visiting Northumberland. One of my favourite trips was our day in Craster, from where we walked to Dunstanburgh castle and then beyond to a beautiful beach. Hide

Lovely property. Next to a great fish and chip shop. It can get busy for parking but you can usually get a space outside the property to park. Great downstairs space. Plenty of room for small to medium dogs to stay. Outdoor enclosed space is also ideal and gets a lot of sunshine during the day and evening. It has a relatively new gate that makes Read moreit secure. Perfect distance to walk down to the pier and harbour area - a fab walk round the bay with the dog at all hours. Dogs not allowed on the beach between May and September due to lots of families and its a small bay. We were first timers to Amble and this was a perfect property to stay at and experience Amble. The cottage had everything we needed. Plenty of hot water, heating we could adjust and clean bedding and towels. As seems to be a regular thing these days, no welcome pack was supplied. No private parking, but we always got parked outside. Unfortunately, we didn't find the cottage very private. The front window looks onto the fairly busy footpath. Read moreThe backyard has no privacy at all from neighbours or the path path running along the back. No attempt has been made to make it a pleasant area to sit in. If the wind is blowing in the wrong direction, the proximity of the chip shop becomes all too obvious. Amble, apart from the harbour front, doesn't lend itself to a holiday destination, but the surrounding area does have some fabulous beaches and areas of real beauty. This cottage, as a base for this area is great but lack of nice outside space, makes it a compromise. Hide

We have stayed in holiday cottages for the last 40 years this is the first time there was no welcome pack. Not even the most basic things like salt and pepper. Having said that it was very comfortable and furnished to a high standard.
