With a rich history and plenty of attractions, guests can enjoy the gothic architecture and winding streets of the Old Town from their doorstep. Dominating the skyline is the hauntingly beautiful Whitby Abbey (0.5 miles on foot), perched atop East Cliff, this popular spot makes for a charming walk with rewarding views of the North Sea. Explore the Captain Cook Memorial Museum (0.5 miles on foot) that celebrates the famous explorer's early years, or embark on a nautical adventure with Whitby Coastal Cruises, less than 200 metres away from the cottage. Guests also have a choice of sandy beaches nearby; with Whitby Beach less than 500 metres away, Upgang Beach (1.5 miles) and Sandsend Beach (2 miles).

This delightful three-storey retreat offers a blend of maritime charm and modern comfort. As you step inside, the ground floor welcomes you with two cosy bedrooms – a twin and a double, adorned with nautical touches and Smart TVs. A well-appointed shower room and a separate WC complete the ground floor and ensure convenience for all guests. Equipped with all you need to cook your favourite meals, the kitchen ensures all guests stay happy and well fed, with the group gathering for meal times around the wooden dining table. Adorned with coastal features and decor, the lounge space is the perfect spot for guests to relax after a day spent exploring Whitby. With large windows that allow natural light to flow in, a welcoming wood burner and a Smart TV, it’s easy to unwind in this charming room. With views of the surrounding rooftops and Whitby Harbour, this is a tranquil place to retreat to after a busy day.

Whilst the position is very good, overall the house was disappointing. There is no table room for 6 people, and the sofas are past their best. The TV cannot be viewed from all the chairs. The down stairs shower room was in our opinion dangerously hot as the temperature control made no difference and you had to turn it off to cool down before contiRead morenuing. It is also difficult to get into and so small you can barely move. The house heating control is difficult to use as it 'learns' but it generally doeswhat it wants rather than what you want. Instructions regarding waste collection need improving. It wasnt the best weeks holiday and we wont be using the house again. Hide

What a fantastic holiday cottage, the location is ideal, close to the beach and town centre with a really lovely view across the harbour to Whitby Abbey. The property is full of character and lovely decorative touches which make it feel more like a home than a bland rental. The beds were very comfortable too!
