Property code: OC-II03141

A delightfully renovated former stable in an elevated position in the hills above New Ross is the perfect place for couples looking for a romantic rural escape in the splendid scenery of Country Wexford. This imaginative yet cosy property forms part of a small development of reclaimed farm buildings near the owner's main house. New Cross is 1.5 miles away with local amenities and the pretty Woodville House and Gardens. Delve into the local history with a visit to the Dunroby Famine Ship Experience (2.5 miles) or head up to Jet Point Park (15.5 miles) and enjoy heritage walks, sheep dog demonstrations and the ruins of the 12th-century abbey. Waterford, famous for its beautiful crystal and medieval museum, is only 16 miles away.

This characterful cottage perfectly blends original features and contemporary comfort and is ideal for a cosy getaway. As well as the stone walls, wooden floors and the elegant furnishings and decor create a welcoming and homely ambience. Step into the bright dining/kitchen area, which has all the appliances you need to create a romantic meal for two to share at the dining table that looks out over the pretty garden. A comfortable chair beside a lovely dresser keeps this space social during meal preparation. The open-plan living room has been imaginatively designed and has two distinct areas to enjoy. In one section is the sleeping area with a queen-size bed, a chest of drawers, and a wardrobe for storage. In the other section are a comfortable sofa and a chair where you can snuggle in front of the wood burner and chat or watch the TV – there’s also a full-size piano. A bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC completes the features of this pretty cottage.

Step outside to unwind in a partially enclosed garden with a patio area and furniture, making this the ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee or to sip on a cool glass of something in the late afternoon, and breathe in the beautiful countryside surroundings.

Would definitely go back again, preferably in the summer months when the weather is warmer. The owners couldnt do enough for us while there, very helpful. If you want peace and quiet this is the place to go. However, it is tricky to find. Overall, a lovely stay.

A superb find. Great value for money and highly relaxing with walks from the doorstep. Walking distance to New Ross and strategically placed for arts festivals in Wexford, Thomastown and Kilkenny.
