This charming, detached cottage, which is spread across two floors, is an idyllic getaway for families or a group of friends who want a tranquil, rural getaway on the Cornish coast. Located in the sleepy hamlet of Crugmeer in the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this cottage boasts scenic countryside walks and picturesque beaches surrounding it. There are a large number of pristine Cornish beaches close to the property. The closest beach is the sandy Trevone Bay (1 mile), but don’t miss the popular Harlyn Bay Beach, which is 3 miles away. For shopping and places to dine out, head into Padstow town, which is 2 miles away. Another ideal beach which is within walkable distance from the cottage is the dog friendly beach of Tregirls, at low tide the beach can expand up to nearly a mile and half with golden sand and small caves to explore.
Stepping into the cottage, there’s a convenient cloakroom for you to hang up your coat, which also has a WC inside. Entering the lounge, this space feels homely and comfortable. Relax on one of the sofas or the armchair and admire the stone fireplace. The tall window lets in plenty of natural light, making it an excellent room for a rainy day. Walking through into the kitchen, it’s a neat and well-organised room with lots of surface space for preparing a meal — which you can do while admiring the countryside view through the wide window, off the kitchen is a handy utility room. When it’s time to sit down and enjoy a special meal, the charming dining room is the perfect place. In the centre of the room is a table and chairs which are underneath a characterful wooden beamed ceiling. Open the door to the patio to enjoy a gentle breeze while you’re tucking into your dinner. To catch the afternoon sun or sunset, head to the sunroom — which has comfortable rattan furniture and looks out onto the garden. Also on the ground floor is the master bedroom, which boasts a king-size bed and an en-suite with a shower. Climb the stairs to reach the first floor, where you’ll find two more bedrooms. Both of these rooms have twin beds and offer distant sea views from both the front and rear windows.
This property boasts a large lawned garden, surrounded by an attractive dry-stone wall. Sit on the bench at the bottom of the garden and gaze out across the serene countryside to the distant sea views. To the side of the house, there’s also a sheltered patio area, which is the perfect spot for firing up the BBQ and sitting with a drink. If you’re really lucky with the weather, make the most of the sun loungers in the garage. In addition to these two outdoor spaces, there’s another secure, gated lawned area to the rear of the property with a private gate leading to the lane.
