This traditional country escape is wonderful for groups of leisure lovers seeking a secluded retreat in the heart of County Laois. Stroll the bustling streets of Mountrath (3.5 miles) to discover cosy coffee nooks, lively pubs, and a monthly artisan market. History buffs can peruse the opulent 18th-century grounds of Abbeyleix Heritage House and the medieval Abbeyleix Castle (each 6.5 miles) while keen amblers explore the tranquil landscape of Abbeyleix Woods (7 miles).

A homely sentiment flows throughout this inviting property. Enjoy antique-style furniture, checked country fabrics, and warm earthy tones throughout. Unravel woolly outer layers at the door then congregate in the lounge to stretch out amongst the plump furnishings. Although rather secluded, as it is in the middle of Ireland and we were entertaining some American visitors, we were able to get to many places reasonably easily on day trips, in all directions even to the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren. Every day out was exceptional. The property is very well equipped and comfortable.
