There are some truly breathtaking coastal walks to experience nearby, particularly on the dramatic Hook Peninsula (12 miles), with its iconic lighthouse and myriad of rare sea birds. Wexford is also home to some of the country’s finest beaches, including the picture-postcard Carnivan Bay (10 miles), with its golden sands and turquoise waters. Nearby Dunbrody Abbey (2.5 miles) makes for an excellent family day out. For shopping and eating out, head into the bustling town of New Ross (9 miles).
The ground floor of the farmhouse has been beautifully renovated, carefully combining traditional features, such as exposed beams, with contemporary design and home comforts. At the heart of the home is a spacious kitchen/diner, where you can come together to rustle up delicious, home-cooked feasts and enjoy memorable mealtimes at the breakfast bar or the table by the cosy wood burner. There’s also a sofa here, providing the perfect spot for post-dinner drinks and late-night chats. Alternatively, retire to the inviting lounge, where an array of comfortable seating is arranged around an open fire. Relax here, reading a book or watching a movie on the TV/DVD. Completing the ground floor is a bright conservatory with rattan seating. Upstairs, you’ll find two double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room, while a third bedroom offers a cosy twin. A well-appointed family bathroom rounds off this wonderful country retreat.
Outside, soak up the sunshine in the large, enclosed garden. Enjoy al fresco meals and family BBQs on the patio area by the house, whilst the children and furry companions play on the lawn.
