Sitting in large grounds within the owner’s farmland, this charming house has been furnished with stylish interiors and is perfect for a large group of family or friends who love outdoor pursuits. Explore the area on pretty walks through the owner’s farmland and head to Slieveaman mountain (‘mountain of the women’) for a more challenging hike, where you can still see ancient burial cairns at the 721-metre summit (10 miles away). Enjoy the beautiful local scenery playing a round at Callan Golf Club (2 miles). Visit the nearby market town of Callan (less than 2 miles), home to a good selection of pubs and restaurants; explore Kilkenny Castle (12.5 miles) and grounds where the kids can have fun in the playground. History buffs will enjoy a trip to the Edmund Rice Heritage Centre and thatched cottage where the missionary was born in 1762.
The contemporary home has been furnished with antique furniture in the elegant main lounge, with an open fire in the grand fireplace and a TV for evenings in. Prepare tasty fare in the spacious country-style kitchen/diner and eat together at the rustic kitchen table. There’s additional room to relax in the second lounge with more gorgeous antique furniture, a dining table, and a cosy wood burner. One of the double bedrooms is on the ground floor and has a handy en-suite shower room. Upstairs are two more doubles both with en-suite shower rooms, and a triple room, with a double bed and a single, and a large Jack and Jill bathroom, which has a bath and a separate shower and connects to the triple room.
