Escape on a stay for family or friends at this stylish house in the tiny Cornish village of Newtown-in-St-Martin. You’ll be perfectly positioned for scenic walks and cycles from your front door, and just 3 miles from the coast at Helford. Head to the idyllic Bosahan Cove via the coastal path or inland to the beautiful Bonython Estate Gardens, both within 3.5 miles. Visit ancient Halliggye Fogou or enjoy a swim in Trevassack Lake, both 2.5 miles, or go for a pub lunch at one of the many alehouses nearby.
This lovingly designed property features appealing handcrafted wooden fittings made from English green oak, Douglas fir, chestnut and larch. You’ll enter into the central lobby which leads to a large kitchen/dining room with a table and chairs for enjoying meals together. The separate lounge/dining room is a beautiful light-filled space with gorgeous wooden beams on the ceiling. It has a TV, comfortable sofas and a wood burner housed in an exposed-brickwork fireplace. There’s also a downstairs WC on this floor. To get to the bedrooms, head up the hand-built oak staircase to the first-floor landing, where you’ll find a balcony you can enjoy spectacular views from. From here, you can get to a double room with an en-suite bathroom as well as a single room (linen provided but bed will need to be made by guests), all with lovely views over the garden and surrounding countryside.
A French door in the lounge leads to a grassy garden with a patio area equipped with furniture, so you can make the most of the fresh air. There’s also a wood store containing fuel for the wood burner in winter. The private driveway is gated, for extra security.
