Stay at this charming holiday cottage located on the banks of the tranquil River Ant. Watch the boats come and go from your window, or hop aboard a boat yourself and explore the region’s iconic canals. On the opposite bank sits the Museum of the Broads where you can discover the area’s history, and there are lovely pubs and cafes in the centre of the pretty market town of Stalham, just 1 mile away. The Weavers’ Way runs right through the town for long walks through the picturesque countryside. Further afield, this region is home to a host of fantastic places to visit including the family-friendly attraction of BeWILDerwood, the peaceful beach at Sea Palling, and the beach and seal colony at Horsey Gap, all within 8 miles. For a day in the city, the bustling streets of Norwich are 16 miles away and home to fun attractions, theatres, and bars.

 

This charming reverse-level accommodation provides everything a couple or small family are looking for from a waterside retreat. On the ground floor, you will find two comfortable bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with twin beds. Both bedrooms share the family bathroom and a separate WC. Upstairs is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. The kitchen is compact but has everything needed for those who like to exercise their culinary skills. There is ample seating around the dining table where you can enjoy a homecooked meal or spread out the visitor leaflets and plan the next day’s adventure. Sink into the sofas in the lounge area and unwind in front of the Smart TV, or push open the sliding patio door onto the balcony and let the light and fresh air flood in.

 

Dine on the balcony and soak in the stunning views over the River Ant. The perfect spot to enjoy your cuppa with the morning paper or later in the evening as the sun sets with a glass of your favourite tipple. The grounds of the property run right up to the edge of the river. The cottage is nestled within the owner’s boatyard, where daily motor launches are available for private hire. River fishing is also available right on the doorstep (seasonal and licence required).
