This beautifully converted barn nestles within the picturesque North Devon countryside and is conveniently located to explore the best of both the country and the coast. The area boasts the breathtaking North Devon and North Cornish coastline with its renowned beaches and cliff-top walks. Alternatively, head inland for a scenic forestry walk in the nearby Ruby Country or Dartmoor National Park, allowing you to feel the snapping of twigs underfoot. Black Torrington (0.5 mile) is the nearest village, featuring an award-winning pub. There are also village shops and pubs in the nearby villages of Shebbear and Sheepwash (2 miles). Nature lovers will be spellbound when rewarded with sightings of roe deer, buzzards, barn owls and even dippers, whilst you can also say hello to chickens on site and cattle in neighbouring fields. The North Cornwall coast is an easy drive; Bude (16 miles) offers a varied coastline with golden sandy beaches, a surf school, a sea pool and dog-friendly stretches. Horse riding, fishing, golf, archery and alpaca walking can be found nearby too.

Stepping into this elevated single-storey home, you will soon be captivated by the inviting atmosphere the home provides, whilst seamlessly combining comfort and convenience with plenty of unique quirks to make your stay a truly memorable one. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides the first taste of relaxation. The living area has three comfortable sofas from which to enjoy your favourite films on the Smart TV after a day of countryside adventures. The kitchen area, combined with additional utility space provides all the appliances needed for a stress-free stay, whilst the dining table provides the perfect spot for laid back meals together. There are four bedrooms, two either side of the open-plan area and each being accessed by a small step. To the right is where you will find the two king-size bedrooms, one of which has glass doors opening onto the outdoor terrace with stunning views of the River Torridge and rolling fields. A perfect retreat to enjoy the sunset and al fresco dining. You may even spot an otter or kingfisher if you’re lucky. Alongside these sits a family shower room, with a shower and WC. To the left of the living area are the two double-base bunk rooms, ideally suited to accommodate two guests or a family of three. Each of these bedrooms has the added luxury of en-suite shower rooms.

Make your way outside the home and down the short external stairway and you’ll come to a truly marvellous feature of this home: your own private indoor swimming pool. The swimming pool turns this home into an attraction, allowing guests young and old to make the best memories without leaving the driveway. Lovely cottage, private and the owners were helpful in letting us have some fire wood. Nice rural location.

Property is not clean. Cobwebs and dead insects all over the property which have been there a long time. Smells damp and mouldy which you bring the odour home with you in your clothes. Water is from a borehole which means when you wash your hands they smell of pennies. You're advised it is drinkable but I'd recommend buying bottled water. PrivatRead moree pool was swamp green on arrival and remained green the whole week. Pool room decor and finish of a very poor quality for the price and very much a bad DIY project. Flooring around the pool is untreated and not sanded planks of wood. Left a night early due to all the above. Didn't feel like somewhere we could stay another day. Hide

A very out of the way place but lovely. Children really enjoyed the pool, and there is a great sitting outside area under the veranda. Beds were so comfortable. It is such a great place we would go again.

Fabulous! Our family went along with another family and the set up was great for our party of 4 adults and 4 children. Beautiful location with a really lovely charm and feel to the place. The kids loved it and the pool was of course a wonderful added benefit. Would definitely recommend!
