What a gem! Tucked away on a working farm with plenty of space for a couple and their dog, this is a great retreat for exploring the Howardian Hills to the west, North Yorkshire moors to the north and Scarborough/Filey to the east. At night we enjoyed the amazing stars, as part of 'Yorkshire's Dark skies', whilst set against the comforting heat of Read morethe log burner. The owners couldn't be more hospitable and the welcome pack of fresh bread, eggs from their hens as well as treats for us and pooch were much appreciated. Hide

The cottage was immaculate and finished to a high standard, the soft furnishings including the towels and kitchenware were all of a good quality The welcome hamper was a lovely touch. Plenty of room for our two large dogs. Will definitely be back and have already recommended this cottage to family and friends.

Nice conversion and tastefully decorated. Well equipped with everything that could be needed, including torches to light the way to and from the pub, which served good and plentiful food, and only a 10 minute walk away. Warm welcome from the owner. Quiet location but near to many places worth visiting.
