Sit on your balcony with your morning coffee and enjoy the peace the village of Allerford offers, while overlooking the picturesque Pack Horse Bridge and listening to the burbles of the River Aller. Allerford is a quaint village in Somerset within Exmoor National Park and its magical moorlands where the Exmoor ponies roam free. Walking enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with direct access to woodland walks and bridleways, with plenty of space for your four-legged friend to let off steam. Perfectly located between Minehead (4 miles) and Porlock (1.5 mile), there is plenty to do. Minehead is a coastal town perfect for families, with its historic harbour, beaches and fishing quarter or alternatively, you could take a trip on the fabulous West Somerset Railway where you will enjoy a magical trip back to the great days of steam train travel on England’s longest heritage railway running from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard. Other places to explore are Lynton and Lynmouth (13 miles), know as Little Switzerland, or Dunster (6 miles) with its 11th-century castle, medieval yarn market and a street lined with local shops, tearooms and pubs.

Take the steps up to your delightful first floor apartment and enter the hallway. Hang up your coats and walk down the hall to the pretty lounge/dining room with panelled walls and leaded light windows overlooking the stream. Relax on the sumptuous sofas and chill out in front of the Smart TV or step out onto the balcony and soak up the sunsets while overlooking the Pack Horse Bridge. The stylish modern kitchen is a great space that offers everything you need to cook up some of your favourite recipes and enjoy dining at the table with your family and friends remembering the adventures of the day. There are two bedrooms, one has a king-size bed and a Smart TV and the other is a twin zip-and-link room (which can be made into a king-size on request) with a Smart TV. Fantastic cottage, ideal location for visiting the area. Hosts were lovely, helpful & a cream tea on arrival was most welcome after a long journey. We will be back
