Sit on your balcony with your morning coffee and enjoy the peace the village of Allerford offers, while overlooking the picturesque Pack Horse Bridge and listening to the burbles of the River Aller. Allerford is a quaint village in Somerset within Exmoor National Park and its magical moorlands where the Exmoor ponies roam free. Perfectly located between Minehead (4 miles) and Porlock (1.5 mile), there is plenty to do. Minehead is a coastal town perfect for families, with its historic harbour, beaches and fishing quarter or alternatively, you could take a trip on the fabulous West Somerset Railway where you will enjoy a magical trip back to the great days of steam train travel on England’s longest heritage railway running from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard. Other places to explore are Lynton and Lynmouth (13 miles), know as Little Switzerland, or Dunster (6 miles) with its 11th-century castle, medieval yarn market and a street lined with local shops, tearooms and pubs.
