This charming fishermen’s cottage serves as an ideal bolthole for friends or families looking to explore the picturesque coast and countryside of South Devon. Situated in an elevated position with spectacular panoramic views in the popular village of Kingswear, you’ll have nearby pubs and a shop within a half-mile stroll. The world-renowned Britannia Royal Naval College is floodlit every evening, and the regular Paignton-Kingswear vintage steam train can be seen from the cottage arriving on its journey along the banks of the Dart. A ferry located 500 metres away rides across the river to the vibrant town of Dartmouth, boasting an array of amenities. Catch a river cruise from Dartmouth to Totnes, Dittisham and Greenway, the home of Agatha Christie. Water sports can be enjoyed along the River Dart.
Step inside this cosy accommodation and you’ll find the open plan living room/diner. Boasting incredible riverside views from the window with a smart TV and comfy sofas, this is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day exploring. There is a dining table to comfortably seat all guests, and to the rear of the cottage is the compact but well-equipped kitchen with a convenient separate WC. Heading upstairs via a striking open tread staircase in the centre of the living space, you’ll find two bedrooms. The first is a master bedroom with a double bed and breathtaking river views. Across the hall is a shower room with a walk-in shower. Completing this floor is a smaller bedroom with a double bed with a single bed over (suitable for children only). There is another lovely, spacious double bedroom located on the second floor, accessed via steep stairs.
Outside, enjoy the magnificent views from the patio on the 'sunny side' of the Dart, as Kingswear retains the sunshine much later during the day than its neighbour across the water – Dartmouth. From this elevated position in the garden, you can dine alfresco while watching beautiful sunsets.
