Property code: OC-S29170

Brimming with 18th-century charm, this former coaching inn offers a peaceful retreat for couples or small families seeing a nature-filled getaway, with Norfolk’s coast and countryside at the doorstep. Explore the Georgian character of Holt’s town centre; with its unique boutique shopping, great food hall, antique and art galleries, and restaurants and cafes. Explore the town's Country Park (1 mile), offering scenic walks amidst woodland and heathland. Holt is also home to the North Norfolk Steam Railway, where you can pick up the Poppy Line and enjoy a heritage train ride to Weybourne and Sheringham. Discover stunning beaches just a short distance away. Head to Sheringham Beach for sunbathing and surfing or take a drive to Cromer (10 miles) to explore the pretty pier. Take a boat trip from Blakeney (5 miles) to see the largest seal colony in England at Blakeney Point. Wildlife nature reserves and National Trust properties such as Felbrigg (9 miles) are all within easy reach.

Offering cosy and elegant accommodation, this sympathetically updated coaching inn provides a welcoming atmosphere with classic decor and soft furnishings. The apartment is accessed on the first floor of the former, historic White Lion Hotel. Once inside, it is set over two floors, and has a large lounge with comfortable seating and traditional furniture, bringing a sense of history and glamour to the space. Unwind in here in front of the Smart TV, or join the chosen chef in the well-appointed kitchen/diner, where you’ll find all you need to whip up a homecooked meal, to be enjoyed around the dining table. When night falls, head up the winding stairs to a large landing which leads to two sumptuous bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both bedrooms offer double beds and plenty of character, with exposed wooden beams and streams of natural light. One bedroom boasts an en-suite shower room, while the other benefits from a fantastic bathroom with an inviting free-standing, roll-top bath.

Whilst there is no private outside space available at this property, guests are positioned in the heart of Holt, where tree-lined streets invite peaceful morning and evening strolls. Further afield, stride out in the surrounding countryside where you’ll find seemingly endless walking trails to start or end your day.

Lovely position right near to Holt High Street with the antique shops, bars and restaurants all to hand. Everything you could think of that you may need in a home is there within the accommodation. The upstairs ceilings are a bit low in places but you soon get used to it! Nice to have more than one set of keys. Would recommend.
