Matlock town, just 2 miles away has a lovely collection of shops and cafes, which continue towards Matlock Bath on Dale Road, where there is a great selection of restaurants, unique shops and antique stores. Following the River Derwent, you can continue to Matlock Bath, with a vibrant seaside feel, arcades and lots of places to eat. Head up by cable cars and take a trip to the Heights of Abraham. For a taste of industrial heritage, visit Cromford (4.5 miles), home to the historic Cromford Mill and the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Learn about the pioneering work of Sir Richard Arkwright and explore the picturesque village nestled along the banks of the river. Further out, but not far away, Haddon Hall with its magnificent gardens sits just 5 miles away and Chatsworth House is 7 miles, with its magnificent architecture, world-renowned art collections, and sprawling gardens.

The cottage was clean and well presented We stayed in the winter -snow outside but the cottage was lovely and warm Super comfy beds and lovely living room with outstanding views Tina was available to answer any questions we had and left a lovely welcome package including treats for our dog This was a girls weekend so the fact that the beds sRead moreplit to singles was perfect for us We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return to see the spectacular views in warmer weather Hide
