This stylish, former fisherman’s cottage is perfect for a holiday close to the seaside. Rye is a delightful market town that offers plenty of activities for couples and families. The town has a wealth of independent shops and a fine selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs, all within 500 metres of the cottage. Camber Sands is just 3 miles away and is perfect for families.

With its gentle shelving sandy beach as well as a variety of water sports including windsurfing and kitesurfing, it makes for a great day out. Why not take a trip to Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and enjoy a bike ride along the coast to Winchelsea Beach (3.3 miles)? Or nearby is the town of Hastings (10 miles), which is home to the country’s oldest funicular railway and a host of family activities. The front door of this beautiful property opens into the hallway where there is space for dropping off coats and shoes before heading into the comfortably furnished lounge/diner that features a sofa, armchair and a window seat arranged around a wood burner and Smart TV. A large dining table with seating for all offers the perfect place for relaxed family meals. An archway from the dining area leads through into the well-equipped kitchen that has everything you will need for whipping up a delicious meal including a range-style oven with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, DeLonghi espresso coffee machine and microwave. Beyond the kitchen is a utility area with a washing machine and a separate cloakroom with WC. Heading up to the first floor, there are two bedrooms: a king-size and a twin. The property is completed with a beautiful bathroom that features a stunning roll top copper bath (just perfect for a long hot soak), a walk-in shower and a WC.

Outside at the rear of the cottage, you'll discover a small patio that is a wonderful sun trap that offers comfortable seating which can be enjoyed throughout the day. The front of the cottage is just 20 metres from the river with views of the quay and boats. There is private parking at the front of the property for one car. Further on street parking available (subject to availability).

A comfortable cottage and full of character with excellent modern amenities. It was clean and well equipped for catering. The location was really close to the town centre and also to lovely walks. It was quiet. The neighbours were friendly. Parking a bonus.

Wonderful house - great to have dedicated parking. We appreciated the lovely gifts. Bed super comfy. Good to be near the town and the amazing nature reserve. Would recommend the cinema for a rainy day.

Lovely cottage, extremely well equipped and in a great location. All the extra little touches left for us by by the owners were so thoughtful. Short walk into Rye which is really pretty with lots of interesting things to do and see. Great selection of cafes, pubs etc.

Interesting property with many pleasing features. We found the owners very helpful with things like tuning the TV as it appeared to be oddly programmed. Overall very cosy cottage.

Excellently stocked home from home and central position, appreciated little extra treats- hamper and toiletries were lovely. House frontage a little tired and noise from busy road impacts if windows open.

Stayed with friend and our 2 dogs for week starting 16th August. Owners had gone out of their way to make us feel welcome, leaving a hamper with wine and goods for us and treats for the dogs. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you needed for your stay. They put milk in the fridge and there was coffee/tea for us to use. Beautiful. So much detail has gone into this place to make it feel like a home from home. Location is amazing and quaint. The hosts are tremendous and kind. I really did love this place.

The cottage is very comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well equipped . A lot of thought has gone into the presentation of the house especially for dog owners with the provision of dog towels, water and food bowl and even poo bags ! We really felt at home for a week at Riverside Cottage. The owner gave us a warm welcome and also thought so carefully of our dog. Rain or shine, with a fireplace and small garden you can make yourself always comfortable and enjoy. The cottage is furnished with a lot of love and style, which is not a standard feature. We will come back :)

This cottage is in an ideal location for exploring Rye and the surrounding areas. The cottage is beautifully furnished and has everything you need for a lovely stay. Lovely, homely cottage in a great position just across the road from the centre of beautiful Rye. On-site parking was a godsend and the large grass area at the front was ideal for our dog!
