This charming, Lakeland farmhouse is situated on a working farm surrounded by fells and in sight of Blencathra, and the springtime here offers you a chance to watch the lambs playing in the fields. Threlkeld village is just over a mile away with a couple of lovely country pubs, a cricket pavilion, and a golf course. You can walk into the market town of Keswick, located 4 miles away via the footpath that runs along the old railway line. There is a good selection of independent shops, restaurants and cafes in this lovely town. Annually, Keswick holds the Mountain Festival, a three-day event with world-class sports, outdoor activities, talks and films with live music. Derwentwater is only 12 miles away and offers some great water sports activities, or why not visit one of the area’s wonderful local distilleries?
The property was renovated in 2023 to a very high standard. The ground floor boasts a contemporary kitchen with a breakfast bar that looks out over the lounge – this is the perfect place to enjoy cosy evenings. After a long walk, enjoy a movie on the Smart TV or a glass of wine with a good book while snuggled on the comfy sofa. The stairs lead off the lounge to the first floor, head up here when night falls and you’re ready to drift off. The spacious master suite has a beamed ceiling, with low windows, slate window sills, and views over the fells. There is a wonderful en-suite shower room where you can refresh between Lakeland adventures.
Outside, there is a patio area in front of the property with seating and views across the open countryside and fells. The area is a haven for wildlife and birds as well as the local farm animals which roam close by. On a nice evening, enjoy starry skies from the private hot tub, or on a nice morning, it is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or dine alfresco.
