Property code: OC-C29692

Welcoming up to four guests and two canine companions, this delightful lodge is one of two properties surrounded by seeping countryside views and on-site course fishing lakes. The village of Madley (1 mile) offers nearby convenience with a handy shop and local pub, while Canon Bridge (0.5 miles) offers more opportunities for buying local ingredients and plays host to tennis courts and a 9-hole golf course. Keen ramblers are spoiled with walking trails that lead away from the property and into the Herefordshire countryside, the most popular of which is the well-known Offa’s Dyke Path which you can join from the town of Hay-on-Wye (16 miles). Whist you’re in town here, take some time to explore the charming collection of bookshops that have gained Hay-on-Wye the reputation as the ‘Town of Books’. For more thrilling outdoor adventures, you’ll find the dramatic Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Path both within 16 miles.

This welcoming holiday lodge sits in an elevated position, offering guests fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and the on-site fishing lakes. Step inside to kick off walking shoes or wipe down muddy dogs in the entrance hall, then walk into the spacious and scenic, open-plan living space that combines the lounge, kitchen and diner. Flick on the Smart TV in the lounge area and sit back in the comfortable seating or simply marvel at the rural views through the glass garden doors. When stomachs start to rumble, you’ll find the kitchen at the rear of the living space, which boasts all the space and equipment needed for a memorable self-catering stay. Plan the next day’s adventure together as you dine at the wooden table here, or al fresco-style outside on the terrace if the weather is generous. At night, choose from two pretty bedrooms, both decorated in calming, neutral tones. These rooms include a double bedroom and a cosy twin, and are both served by the well-appointed family shower room.

Step outside to take in the countryside vistas from the peaceful garden. Plan al fresco meals and evening tipples on the terrace, using the table and chairs, and feel free to explore the tranquil grounds where three course fishing lakes await, as well as quiet farmland trails to walk.
