Inviting outdoor-loving couples and up to two canine companions, this stone-built cottage is set in the heart of the Peak District National Park and offers cosy accommodation and fantastic on-site facilities. With several large fields, two dog paddocks, and tranquil countryside set across 20 acres of shared grounds, this is a great holiday base for pet owners. With the centre of Bakewell just 2.5 miles away, this contemporary, dog-friendly cottage is perfectly placed for adventures in the Peak District with family or friends. Pull on your walking boots and head for the footpath, just 100 metres away, for a walk to the local pub (2 miles) or ramble through fields and open countryside to Lathkill Dale, Over Haddon, Sheldon, Monyash, Ashford-in-the-Water and Bakewell (all between 2 and 5 miles). An array of eateries, shops and attractions are available in the beautiful market town of Bakewell (2.5 miles), while days out can also be enjoyed at Chatsworth House (6.5 miles), Haddon Hall (7 miles) and the elegant spa town of Buxton (11 miles).

Soaked in sun and adorned with hanging baskets and a rustic farmer’s cart wheel, this delightful cottage set across one floor invites you to step in and discover its rural charm. Walk into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, the social heart of the property. In the lounge space, notice the exposed stonework set around the roaring wood burner, offering a most cosy corner for sitting on the soft sofa as you watch the TV or delve into your holiday read. When it’s time to eat, find that the kitchen boasts all the amenities and space needed to cook up a romantic feast for two, which can be enjoyed at the wooden dining table nearby, or alfresco-style out in the private dining area across the courtyard. At night, a sumptuous double bedroom awaits with crisp linens and calming décor. Found through a characterful archway, the bedroom also plays host to a quiet dressing area where you can start and end each day peacefully – a separate put up bed can be added to the dresser area (on request). The well-appointed bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the cottage’s interior.

Outside and across the courtyard awaits a delightful dining area complete with a picnic-style table and a parasol. This scenic spot is for your use only, whether that be for al fresco meals together or unwinding with a book to the sound of birdsong. Elsewhere across this 20-acre site, guests will find plenty of land to explore, a lot of it dog-friendly, as well as a whole host of impressive, shared facilities. Start each day with a quiet walk around two dog paddocks or a circular walking trail. Enjoy al fresco meals with jaw-dropping views from the shared viewpoint and BBQ area, or pre-book the group dining area to make use of its well-equipped kitchen and ample seating. More outside space is available in the shared guest garden which features a large lawn, panoramic views, and garden games, while a games room with plenty of activities beckons kids, a laundry room adds convenience, and a bike storage shed adds security.
