The very definition of a romantic bolthole, this one-bed cottage offers open-plan living and modern comfort with rustic overtones and bags of character. With three cottages in total on this site, there are communal grounds and amenities, but you can still retain the feeling of privacy. Or go on holiday as part of a larger group while having your own space. Main road access is nearby, so it’s a great base for exploring further afield – Saundersfoot is 3.6 miles, while the equally attractive Tenby lies just 5.5 miles away. Great to visit for a mooch, a paddle and supplies but nice to leave the hustle and bustle at the end of the day. If you’re a National Trust supporter, Tenby’s Tudor Merchant’s House or Colby Woodland Garden might pique your interest – 7 and 4.3 miles respectively (in opposite directions). Or, if the great outdoors is calling, lace up your boots and head out to join the 186-mile Coastal Path.
The open-plan living area really has the wow factor. It feels impressive and cosy all at once, with slate-style floor and rugs, crisp modern lines with rustic overtones in the exposed wooden frame, Velux windows, pitched ceilings and to cap it off a wood burner in the corner next to your ‘table for two’. A modern galley-style kitchen has more than enough space and mod cons to cook when you don’t fancy self-catering. The double bedroom is simply stylish and also has an attractive pitched ceiling with exposed beams. It is on the same level as the living accommodation and shower room.
If you’re feeling private, there’s a bistro table for two directly outside the cottage, but there are also more well-presented communal grounds with garden furniture. But, realistically, the rugged wilds of Pembrokeshire are all around, just waiting for you to explore.
