Nestled amidst stunning scenery, this holiday home offers the perfect country retreat with adventures and charming villages right at your doorstep. Explore the thriving arts scene and scenic walks in New Mills. Enjoy picturesque views of the rivers Sett and Goyt from the Torrs Riverside Park and Millennium Walkway. For a longer trek, tackle the 10-mile Goyt Way or the Sett Valley Trail, a 2.5-mile path leading to Hayfield, a delightful village at the base of Kinder Scout. New Mills has its own 18-hole golf course and is close to Lyme, a gorgeous National Trust property surrounded by gardens, moorland and a deer park. Less than 11 miles south, the spa town of Buxton has iconic architecture as well as one of the finest show caves in England. It also has Go Ape and a country park to explore. Just over 20 miles away, Bakewell invites you to experience its vibrant cafes, shops, and scenic waterside walks.

New Mills is on the western edge of the Peak District National Park – and it’s close to the boundary between the two that you’ll find this welcoming holiday home. Follow the farm track up to the property, then pause to admire the country views before you unload – there are big skies and green hills for miles. Inside, there’s room to store outdoor clothing and wipe muddy paws before you enter the kitchen, which has a striking quarry-tile floor and a traditional farmhouse-style dining suite. There are far-reaching views from the windows here, plus all the essentials for an effortless self-catering stay, including an air fryer and dishwasher. Along the large hallway, you’ll find a choice of two carpeted sitting rooms: a full-of-light lounge with sofas, a TV and a wood burner within its striking fireplace, and a more intimate snug/study which has a writing desk, a sofa and a further wood burner. When it’s time to sleep, the three bedrooms comfortably accommodate any party of six. Choose from a king-size bedroom with wonderful views, a further king-size bedroom or a twin bedroom, all sharing the use of a stylish family bathroom with both a bath and a separate shower cubicle.

A traditional stone wall separates the garden from the surrounding moorland – enjoy the fresh air and breathtaking views as you share food and refreshments on the patio to the rear, or feel the grass beneath your feet with a walk on the lawn at the front of the property.
