Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life at this characterful cottage steeped in history and surrounded by the beauty of Castleton, perfect for a romantic couple’s retreat or a memory-making family getaway. Nestled at the head of the Hope Valley in the heart of the Peak District National Park, the beautiful village of Castleton is home to a wonderful selection of local cafes, tea rooms and pubs. Standing high above the village, explore the impressive ruins of Peveril Castle less than half a mile away to enjoy breathtaking views across Hope Valley or discover the world beneath your feet by touring the ancient Peak Cavern, one of many caverns in Castleton, half a mile away. Keen walkers can conquer the Mam Tor circular walk (2 miles) to be rewarded with magnificent views over the Edale Valley to Kinder Scout and the Derwent Moors.

The charming, rustic ambience created by the traditional stone exterior is echoed in the cosy lounge; the exposed stonework fireplace will transport you to times past, whilst the roaring electric flame effect fire sets the scene for pure relaxation. Flooded with plenty of natural sunlight, the charming dining room offers the perfect peaceful spot to enjoy a glass of something chilled with loved ones. On a fine evening, throw open the patio doors to unwind amongst the sounds of birdsong carried through the breeze. Reminiscent of an authentic farmhouse, the contemporary country cottage-style kitchen will inspire you to whip up something delicious with your fabulous local produce. Upstairs, you’ll find one twin and one double bedroom that feature characterful exposed beams and soothing neutral hues that’ll lull you into a peaceful slumber. From sunrise to sunset, the family bathroom provides everything you need to feel refreshed and invigorated.

Make the most of your fresh, countryside air by dining alfresco in the delightful, tiered patio garden, which sweeps across three levels connected by stone steps. From the top tier of the garden, lose yourself in spectacular views of Mam Tor from the comfort of the beautiful summer house. Please note, the garden is very steep.
