Experience countryside hikes, rewarding cycling trails and exciting local attractions from this comfortable, family-friendly holiday home. Right on the edge of the Peak District (5 miles), just 4.5 miles from Chesterfield, you’re well positioned to get to know vibrant Derbyshire from here. With its unique, crooked church, traditional black and white architecture, and a town centre filled with shops, pubs and eateries, Chesterfield is a fantastic base for adventure. It’s not too far from the beloved Chatsworth House (7.5 miles), a Derbyshire manor house known for its exhibitions, never-ending gardens and regular events. Children will love the farmyard and playground on the estate, with pygmy goats and smaller critters to pet and feed, or for thrill-seekers, try Gulliver's Kingdom just 8 miles. Beauty spots close by include Ashford in the Water (11 miles), Lathkill Dale (13 miles) and the Monsal Head Viaduct (12.5 miles).

Follow the driveway down to this rural property, enjoying the peace and serenity that its location affords. Enjoy the compact, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, an appealing space to spend time in. Get curled up and cosy in the lounge area where a three-seater sofa and an armchair are positioned opposite a Smart TV, the perfect place to enjoy a film or a book. On the opposite side of the room, the kitchen is compact yet fully equipped, accompanied by a breakfast bar for easy dining. The first of three bedrooms is located on the ground floor. This double room is comfortable and inviting with a refreshing family shower room and separate WC located opposite. Move back into the lounge to find two staircases, one at each side of the room, each leading up to separate single bedrooms. Both bedrooms are snug, set neatly under the eaves of the property.

Outside, the patio space blends seamlessly into the wide, open countryside space, creating an endless amount of room for younger visitors to play. The patio area has been thoughtfully furnished with stylish furniture and a separate BBQ area, creating a place to be on warm, sunny evenings to enjoy your favourite glass of wine and watch the kids play. Relax under the stars with an escape to the country vibe. Private parking for two cars is available.

We really recommend this cottage! Set in a beautifully peaceful location, it was an ideal place from which to explore the area around Matlock and beyond. When we arrived, the cottage was easy to find and with modern decor throughout, it was really comfortable and cosy!
