This magnificent, rural retreat makes the perfect base for families and friends looking to escape the hustle and bustle in breathtaking surroundings. The area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with local activities including horse riding, climbing, cycling, golf, fishing, sailing and wild swimming. You’ll also be spoilt for choice when it comes to walking; from waterside strolls at Gare Loch (5 miles) to exhilarating hikes at Ben Lomond (25 miles). The long-distance John Muir Trail also passes nearby – just a 2-mile walk from the house, with great views of Loch Lomond. The pretty conservation village of Luss (13 miles) on the shores of Loch Lomond makes a lovely day out. Helensburgh (5 miles) has a good range of eateries, a cinema, a swimming pool and a sports centre. Head to Glasgow – just 45 minutes away by train – and explore its vibrant cultural scene and visit museums and art galleries.

The 18th-century holiday home is steeped in history and has been decorated and furnished in an elegant style that complements the property’s original features. Leave coats and boots in the entrance porch, before exploring the rest of the home.
