Set on a working farm, this striking stone cottage offers a welcoming and comfortable retreat for groups of friends and families. It’s located within the North York Moors National Park, where there are walking and cycling trails galore. Head to Goathland Station (8.5 miles) which starred as Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter film or see the waterfall at Falling Foss (3.5 miles). In the fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay (4 miles), you’ll find a family-friendly beach as well as a choice of small shops and places to eat, while Whitby (4.5 miles) boasts a sandy beach, a golf club, excellent shops and fish restaurants and, of course, the iconic ruined abbey. Whitby also has a busy harbour from which you can head out on fishing and wildlife-spotting cruises, as well as a heritage railway which puffs through gorgeous countryside to the market town of Pickering.
Before stepping into this inviting cottage, take a moment to appreciate your peaceful surroundings of national park countryside. Head inside and find that the rural charm continues in the form of vaulted ceilings and verdant views that combine with modern, homely comforts. Be greeted by a well-appointed and airy kitchen/diner, where you’ll find everything needed to cook up a Yorkshire feast for your loved ones. Gather at the dining table here to savour the chef’s cooking or dine alfresco out in the courtyard garden, if the weather permits. After dinner, amble through the archway and into the sumptuous lounge, where soft furnishings are arranged around a Smart TV for evening entertainment. A separate snug room is also available for those who fancy a quiet moment away from the group. Also downstairs is a handy boot room, perfect for kicking off muddy walking shoes. At the end of each busy day away, choose from three delightful bedrooms all have Smart TV's, the first of which is on the ground floor – an inviting single room, served by a separate WC. Upstairs, two delightful double bedrooms await, one of which boasts an en-suite WC. A well-appointed family bathroom serves the bedrooms and completes the interior.
Outside, the rear courtyard offers the best spot to soak up the Yorkshire sun and take in the national park scenery. Here, find bistro-style table and chairs, perfect for quiet morning coffees and evening tipples. Ample private parking is also available.
