Escape to Northumberland and stay in this lovely, detached property, part of an eco-lodge complex located on the historic site where Bamburgh Castle’s stones were quarried over 1,400 years ago. You’ll be just 2 miles from Bamburgh, full of vibrant shops, eateries, the Grace Darling Museum and a stunning sandy beach. From here, you can follow the coastal path to Seahouses (5.5 miles) to take a wildlife-spotting boat trip around the Farne Islands. Enjoy water sports and rock pooling at Beadnell Bay (8.5 miles) or take a scenic walk towards Low Newton-by-the-Sea (10 miles). For a memorable day out, cross the tidal causeway to Holy Island (15.5 miles) to explore Lindisfarne Castle. Alnwick Castle and Gardens (16 miles) also makes for a magical day out. Hikers and cyclists will be keen to plan routes through the Northumberland National Park (16 miles).
On arrival, step inside and pop your outdoor gear and shoes in the handy utility room before entering the heart of the home. This bright open-plan area has vaulted ceilings and wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows at each end, making it incredibly light and airy. The space is divided into two, with a modern kitchen-diner on one side and a cosy lounge on the other – the two divided by a cosy wood burner. Bi-fold doors lead out to a partially enclosed patio so you can blend indoor and outdoor living in good weather. Moving out of the lounge, three lovely bedrooms await, starting with a king-size with a sliding door to an en-suite shower room with WC. The second features a super-king-size zip-and-link bed, which can be converted into twins on request. The third is a twin room with a pull-out trundle bed that’s ideal for an additional child. A stylish family shower room completes the interior.
Outside, the partially enclosed decked area is equipped with a garden table and seating, a lovely spot for sunny breakfasts and al fresco evenings. The visiting birds are a delight. While exploring the grounds, please remember to keep dogs on a lead. Private parking is available for two cars.
