This seaside retreat for families and friends is on the outskirts of the charming fishing village of Beadnell on the Northumberland coast. You’ll be within 1 mile of the village’s excellent choice of pubs, cafes, and restaurants, as well as the magnificent sandy beach. The sheltered bay is popular with bathers, rock poolers and water sports enthusiasts, and you’ll find some beautiful coastal walks to explore from here. Just 2 miles along the coast is the colourful fishing village of Seahouses, where you can hop on a boat to enjoy a wildlife watching excursion to the Farne Islands. A little further along the coast is spectacular Bamburgh Castle, Beach and excellent village amenities(5 miles), Heading inland, visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens (13 miles) and explore the endless walking trails of Northumberland National Park (21 miles).
The stone farmhouse dates back to the early 1900s and is reached by a gently sloping path to the front door. Inside, leave coats and boots in the hallway, before moving through to the welcoming lounge with its dual-aspect windows and cosy wood burner. Relax here, after a day at the beach, stretched out on one of the comfortable sofas as you read a book or watch a film on the Smart TV. The spacious, farmhouse-style kitchen/diner has everything needed to prepare delicious feasts for the group, as well as a large dining table positioned next to a roaring wood burner and lovely views of the garden and adjacent fields. A handy utility room and a separate WC complete the ground floor. Upstairs, you’ll find three bedrooms set in the eaves, all decorated in calming, neutral tones and boasting relaxing, coastal views through the skylights. Choose from a king-size bedroom, a twin bedroom, or a family room with a double bed and a single bed. This room has an en-suite shower room, and there is also a contemporary family bathroom on this level. Please note, the rooms on the first floor have sloping ceilings and you may experience restricted head height in some areas.
Outside is a large, south-west-facing garden with fabulous rural views. The enclosed garden backs onto open fields with views of the dunes, and sometimes the local cows and sheep may come to the garden wall to say hello! You’ll find outdoor furniture and a BBQ on the raised patio (reached via a couple of steps) for al fresco dining in summer months, and there’s ample space on the lawn for outdoor fun and family games. At the bottom of the garden a gate opens onto the field, and you can take the short, 0.2 mile stroll through the caravan park to the beach. Private parking for two cars is available at the property.
