This spacious cottage is a real home away from home, a great choice for families or friends looking to explore Wensleydale’s stunning scenery and lively market towns. Its location close to the centre of Hawes is a real bonus. Here you’ll find a choice of traditional shops and places to eat, as well as the Dales Countryside Museum, the famous Wensleydale Creamery and the Raydale Preserves farm store – all well worth a visit. Head out on any number of magical walks, including to the spectacular waterfalls at Aysgill Force, 4 miles. Hop onto the local bus which will take you to the Snaizeholme Red Squirrel Trail, 4 miles, or head out for the day to The Forbidden Corner, 17 miles, a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises.
Once you’ve entered the detached stone cottage and kicked off your walking boots in the entrance hall, you’ll be drawn to the light-filled lounge and its gorgeous views over the dramatic countryside. Two groups of seating give you a choice of where to relax, and there’s a Smart TV with Sky Sports for when you want to snuggle up for the evening with some entertainment. The window of the large kitchen/diner frames yet more of those wonderful views, and in this room you’ll find all the mod cons you need to rustle up delicious meals – perhaps including some Yorkshire delicacies you’ve picked up on your travels. This room leads through to the utility and downstairs WC. You’ll find all three bedrooms upstairs: two king-size, and a third room that is home to one single bed plus a fold-out single (please let us know when booking if you’d like to use the fold-out bed). A family bathroom with a separate bath and shower completes the interior.
In the large back garden, which is enclosed by a low stone wall, you can sit on the patio and drink in those amazing views, dine alfresco or even grill something on the BBQ. To the side of the house is a private parking space, and there’s further parking available on street.
