This charming timber-framed cottage is steeped in history and surrounded by mature gardens. Offering breathtaking views across the open countryside as far as the Clee Hills, the property is perfect for families or couples wanting a rural escape. Set on the Herefordshire, Shropshire and Welsh borders, the property is well-placed for exploring many national and local, walking and cycling routes. From the cottage, you have direct access to Bircher Common, with Croft Castle, Berrington Hall, and Mortimer Forest all within 5 miles. The picturesque and informative Black and White Village Trail is easily accessible and visits nearby Pembridge, Eardisland, and Weobley. Within 23 miles, you can visit the market towns of Leominster, Ludlow, and Hay-on-Wye with their antiques, food, and literary festivals. If you are feeling energetic, then head to the local mountain bike trails or the peaks of the Brecon Beacons.

Access to the cottage is directly off of Bircher Common, a 4x4 is recommended in winter months based on the rural location. Low-suspension cars may struggle all year round due to the off-road track. Guests are encouraged to use the rear access, stepping into an open kitchen/diner, traditional in style and featuring a cosy wood burner, friends and family can gather around the generously sized table to enjoy a hearty supper or a competitive board game. The kitchen area is well-equipped, offering everything you might need during your stay. From here, a small lobby with a cloakroom and access to the front porch offers additional space for muddy boots and coats. Guests can relax in the cosy lounge with a second wood burner, Smart TV, and deep windowsills offering views across the Shropshire Hills. French doors also offer access to the gardens from here. Climb the staircase, situated in the hallway, to the first floor’s spacious landing, leading to the three bedrooms and a family bathroom. The beautiful king-size room enjoys dual-aspect views of the gardens. The spacious zip-and-link super-king-size bedroom offers flexibility and can be made into a twin on request, at time of booking. The final bedroom is a comfortable and welcoming twin. There is a family bathroom with a separate shower and WC.

Outside, the cottage has established gardens with well-stocked borders, a patio area with a table and chairs for summer dining and a charcoal BBQ.
