Animal lovers will make a beeline for the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary (1 mile), home to majestic tigers, and the all year round dog friendly Yaverland beach is just a few minutes from there, while those seeking some tranquillity can go walking or jogging in Sandown Meadows Nature Reserve (also 1 mile), where you might even spot water voles along the banks. For a dose of island heritage, go and admire the National Trust’s Bembridge Windmill, dating back to the early 1700s (5 miles).
