The coastal villages of Fairbourne and Aberdyfi are within 8 miles, both of which have gorgeous sandy beaches and traditional seaside shops, eateries and attractions.
The former slate quarryman’s cottage is full of characterful period features, such as exposed beams and flagstone flooring that sit alongside contemporary furniture and elegant soft furnishings. At the heart of the home is a cosy lounge/diner, with plush sofas, ambient and well chosen lighting, artwork on the walls, and a collection of homely touches. Unwind in here after a long walk, watching a film on the Smart TV and warming your toes by the wood burner, which is set within an original slate fireplace. Tucked away in one corner is a dining table for enjoying mealtimes as a group. The separate, shaker-style kitchen boasts views across the garden to the mountains beyond and has everything needed to rustle up delicious breakfasts and hearty meals. Steep, cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor, where you’ll find two inviting bedrooms – a super-king-size (zip-and-link that can be made into twins) and a double along with a stylish family shower room.
Outside, steps lead up to the enclosed garden, which is mainly laid to lawn. At the end of the garden you’ll find a cute patio area with furniture and a BBQ, where you can enjoy an al fresco supper and take in the magnificent mountain views. The hillside path from the cottage is a great spot for stargazing – be sure to check it out on a clear night. Enjoy walking beside the cascading river and even take a cold plunge! There is private parking for one car directly outside the property, and further parking in the surrounding streets (subject to availability).
