This single-storey lodge is set within a holiday park on the banks of the picturesque Oulton Broad, and would suit a couple or small family looking to explore the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads network of lakes and rivers. For anyone who loves getting out on the water, this is the perfect base: go boating, kayaking and paddleboarding, or try your luck with some fishing. Stroll along the waterfront for some tranquillity, dine at a riverside pub, or enjoy the thrill of the powerboat races that take place weekly in the summer. If you fancy a day sunbathing, swimming or sandcastle-building, Lowestoft is just 2.5 miles away, where you’ll find sandy beaches as well as Victorian gardens and family attractions. The stately home of Somerleyton Hall, which has spectacular gardens, is only 5.5 miles away, and the charming seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh are both within 27 miles.
Pull up in the parking area, where you have two spaces available, and walk 20 metres to your single-storey lodge. Three steps up take you through the gate to the raised terrace and the front door. Inside, you’ll find a lounge on your left, with comfortable sofas and a Smart TV – a welcoming space in which to relax, perhaps streaming a box set, after a day’s adventures. Continue to the chic kitchen, where you’ll have everything you need to create delicious holiday snacks and meals, including a microwave. There’s also seating for four at a stylish dining table. The two bedrooms, a double and a twin, are at the back of the lodge, both clever styling. They share a modern family shower room.
From the lounge area, patio doors lead to the enclosed, raised terrace, which is furnished for al fresco dining with outdoor seating. There’s plenty on offer on thus wonderful site – you’ll have access to a shared, indoor swimming pool as well as a restaurant and bar, while a short walk takes you to a nearby park where there are tennis courts, bowling greens and recreational areas.
