An alluring farmhouse for a large gathering of 12 guests, this property is designed to impress with its indoor swimming pool and games room. Set in a gorgeous countryside location in the Yorkshire Dales near Gisburn Forest and within the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (16 miles). The local countryside is stunning and if you wanted to travel further afield, the Lake District and the Trough of Bowland (14 miles) are also within easy driving distance. The market town of Settle is 7 miles away with its selection of good restaurants, pubs, cafes, and independent shops to explore; market day is Tuesday. There are many walking and mountain biking trails close to the property where you can enjoy some amazing panoramas of the rural surroundings.

This deluxe property is home to capacious living areas and bedrooms. On arrival you will find a large lounge with ample seating for comfort with a TV and wood burner. The kitchen is vast with a dining table with seating for all guests. Also, on the ground floor is the first of the six bedrooms, a double. For convenience, there is also a shower room with WC nearby. On the first floor you will find two double bedrooms, and three twin rooms with single beds. Also, there is a bathroom, as well as a shower room.

Also on site is a private patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ, a larger shared garden, and access to an indoor heated swimming pool with changing rooms. Guests also have use of a shared games room with a snooker table, a seven-a-side football pitch, and a tennis court.

Swallows is looking a little tired but the outside area has recently been improved with new patio and garden furniture. The swimming pool is a fantastic commodity and the timetable for its use is very well organised. Beautiful setting and lovely to enjoy the peace and quiet. We had a lovely family gathering for a significant birthday.

We had a lovely weekend (party of 11) in The Swallows as part of our Mum's 80th Birthday celebrations. The property was clean and comfortable. The pool and games room are great assets and we used all of our allocated slots. It was great having slots so you didn't have to worry about battling with other guests when using the facilities. The settRead moreing was fantastic and we enjoyed some walks. We also used the tennis court and football pitch. There was adequate parking for our 4 cars. The outdoor seating was excellent catering for 12 guests and we even had to use both parasols it was so hot. We were very lucky with the weather even though it was July! We have already recommended the property to others and we will definitely be returning at some point. Hide

We had a wonderful week. The swimming pool, games room and football pitch were so great for the kids that they said they never even missed their play stations! . Lovely walks on your doorstep. Lovely to spend summer evenings out on the patio.

The cottage and its contents are rather tired but the location is great. The biggest assets are the swimming pool, games rooms and football field. The tennis court is a little tired. Whatever the weather there was so much to keep everyone occupied.

We had a lovely weekend at Swallows Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay as a family of 10. It was lovely and clean and we loved the outdoor space. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends.

An enjoyable stay. Ideal for large families, with use of the pool and games room. It would have been ideal if there was a pub within walkable distance, but it was a 10 minute drive.

We had a fabulous weekend here with 4 generations celebrating my mums 90th birthday. Surroundings are brill for kids and the pool, games room, football field and tennis court were a real bonus to entertain whole family. I highly recommend Swallows as a great place to stay

The cottage is in a lovely setting and very quiet and peaceful. The added entertainment on the small complex was an added bonus. The dining table was sufficient for all 12 adults to dine at one sitting which was important to our party. We all enjoyed our stay.

Large, comfortable property with great facilities for all the family. The swimming pool was perfect for a relaxing swim and grounds great for children and dogs to play/walk outside.

We were a group of 20 across Swallows and Cuckoo's Nest for a 70th birthday. The cottages are warm and cosy, well equipped and comfortable and in a stunning setting for excursions and walks. Lesley and her " crew" went out of their way to ensure we could eat and celebrate together, and the layout lends itself to small groups splitting up to chat wRead moreatch TV etc. The outdoors areas were beautiful even in crisp February sunshine and would be glorious to sit on summer evenings The leisure centre( it is soooo much more than a games room) was a fab bonus. The rota was a brilliant idea and we all loved the pool and the games. Even bought a piece of the artwork as a souvenir! We love to cook and brought supplies of ale so we didn't need to walk to a pub. has great recommendations for local pubs. Loads of parking and strolls from the door, easy drives to clitheroe settle and skipton to shop( although the cottages accept food deliveries too) and we also headed up to Malham, kirby lonsdale and the viaduct ( via courtyard dairy yum) Something for everyone and such great hosts! Fantastic stay at the swallows cottage for my 60th birthday with the family , granchildren loved the swimming pool and games room ,cottage was spotless and spacious, everything there that we needed , we all had an amazing time ,will definitely recommend to family and friends and be returning thank-you .

Great location and accommodation for a multi generational family holiday. Swallows was what exactly what we were hoping for and we all had a great stay. Accommodation was clean and spacious and the pool and games room provided some competitive activities

Everything was excellent and all 10 of us had brilliant time. Pool and games room excellent for kids and pool allocation to each cottage worked well. The only thing we didn't like was the metallic taste of the water!

Some of the pictures on the website are a bit mis leading , making the property look bigger than it actually is , clever photography I suppose . The cottage itself is lovely and very comfortable . Will consider rebooking for next year

The property was loverly and set in amazing surroundings. The pool and games room were brilliant but the pool needs a bit of upkeep, as does some of the equipment in the games room. This didnt detract from our enjoyment though and wouldnt discourage me from rebooking

Had a fabulous time at the cottage for my birthday celebrations. Could not fault the upstairs, unfortunately the downstairs was a little tired & needs updating to the standard of upstairs. The swimming pool & games room was used everyday & kept my grandchildren entertained the location was perfect.

It doesnt specify on booking site that we had to strip beds before leaving and that we were only allocated one toilet roll per bathroom. For 12 people that is ridiculous. It was a surprise to me when I read the instructions that we had to strip the beds and sort the towels etc out for washing and still have to vacate the property fir 9.30. We werRead moree not able to have a proper breakfast. A later check out time would be better and an earlier in check in time. There was a faulty kettle and the fridge handle was broken making it difficult to open. A couple of king sized beds would have been better as well. Hide
